Haven't jumped in awhile! Just wanted to say what an amazing group of people. Very inspirational! Haven't lost weight yet but know that I will and seeing all the success that 60+ folks have really helps. I am convinced my extra 20 pounds is wreaking havoc on my joints and I refuse to start hobbling! Happy holidays to all…

Thanks everyone. 1200 calories isn't very much food! I'm not as active as I want to be. I am not planning to "eat" back my activity calories unless I feel hungry. I can't see myself burning more than 200-300 per day with activity. We'll see!!

ha I'm back. turning 60 on August 25. Just read the Time magazine article on why diets don't work. pretty interesting stuff. Stuff I already am aware of but need to incorporate into my life. I gained 10 pounds since last year mostly from wine and eating out. I have picked up my activity and will once again start watching…

@mk2loser Well said!! There are modifications to a lot of high impact workouts that will help protect joints but still give you a great workout! Leslie Sansone has some great walk tapes along with Jessica Smith who has been mentioned here before. I am doing her 6 week transformation workouts and they are great!!!!

Heck Naprosyn is a great drug used judiciously. As with all otc meds, if you find yourself using it daily, a trip to your care provider is a good idea. But all NSAIDs are great for intermittent aches and pains.

Wow, so nice to see all these new faces. Weigh in tomorrow, I have been working at working out and journaling so I am looking for a good outcome!

@clh72569 awesome job! I know you petite folks have a tougher time losing, you are an inspiration!!

@calmandpeaceful I love my Fitbit One. I don't like to wear anything on my wrist as I work in a hospital and am constantly washing my hands plus usually have a watch on. The one can be slipped in your pocket or attached to your waistband. I do think it motivates me to get moving. If I see less than 5000 steps, I will make…

Welcome @1Nana2many, this thread has been so helpful for my journey too. Great bunch of folks with a lot of great success! I hope I can tell my success story later this year!
-
thanks @AnnPT77! I have a bad concentrated sugar habit that took me surprise when I decided to try to cut it out. I get a sugar craving that I want to try satisfying with fruit! Good to know you had success with naturally occuring sugars!
-
@griffinca2 I know you have mentioned the sugar issue, do you separate out naturally occurring sugars? I am trying to substitute fruit for snacks.
-
@hekla90 I think you are the only night shift person to sleep more not less LOL! A lot of us worked nights with kids so essentially worked around the clock. And now as I get older, I don't sleep as well during the day, I'm lucky if I get six hours.

thanks @trina1049 I'll try, i'm just stuck now as I haven't been able to create that deficit needed to lose. I need to start with eliminating or limiting the white food. That has worked in the past and I can live with it!
-
you are so right, if left to my own devices I'll eat whatever crap (graham crackers and peanut butter anyone) that is available. I'm heading out for a rare day shift so will bring my own food.

I'm with @1PoisonIvy , I just need to close my mouth! I have lost and gained the last five pounds and have not made any significant progress in the 170 days I've been posting here. I've said it before, it's not that i'm tremendously unhappy with my weight, it's just I'd be doing my self a big favor if I lost 30 pounds to…

hellish weekend at work, will get back to it on Monday

@Churchjc you are of course welcome! We are all young at heart so come on in!!! There are some great ideas and stories here.

I LOVE the barefoot sculpt. Like all of her workouts, they sort of sneak up on you!!! This one was really fun and flew by.
-
Needed the day off, will resume tomorrow. So far doing well with logging and with the workouts. I am aiming for 10 pouns off after two cycles.
-
Day three of the Jessica Smith six week tranformation. LOVE her workouts. I am expecting good things when I step on the scale next week. Eating is fairly purposeful. My major weakness, wine is out of the question since I am working so much.
-
I'm sore from Total Body Training!! I started Sunday so did the workout yesterday. Who know baby squats with light weight could make me so sore!!!
-
@MicheleGettingHealthy if you figure out how to record it let me know. I wish I had used my HR monitor.
-
I loved the Total Body Training. Her workouts really sneak up on me. I thought it didn't look too tough but I could barely make it through--had to do the MOM mods!
-
Day ONE here we go!
