  • You alternate workout a and b. the reps decrease as the weight goes up. Stage one will consist of 16 total workouts, 8 workout "a" and 8 workout "b". I just finished stage one. It's tough but I feel so good!
  • I used it to jumpstart my weight loss and have lost 17 pounds so far. I use it more as a guideline, I am not super strict. I have drastically cut my carb intake which was helpful as carbs were and are my "gateway" drug to binge eating. I eat lots of vegies and very lean meat. My carbs come from dairy and the oatbran in the…
  • You can use whatever you need to hold the weight. Squat stands are fine as long as you can get under the weight. My hubbie wants to buy a weight cage?!! That should be interesting. Keep at it!
  • Absolutely, not every weekend but enough so that the early part of the week is spent playing catch up! I tend to be more active on the weekend so that helps to blunt the extra intake.
  • as long as you don't use it to exploit the fried oreo stand, i would count it! why not, you will be walking a ton and will need to accommodate all that extra energy with some extra nutrition.
  • I love that program, I have used it several times LOL to get ready for local races. It is amazing what you can push yourself to do! Congratulations!
  • my dominant arm has always been stronger. I can do compound movements and I don't really notice the difference. It's just with isolated movements that I can see the difference. As long as you don't think you have pinched a nerve or anything like that it's probably normal.
  • The attack phase is short for a reason, rapid weight loss to get you motivated. You can't maintain it for very long, not enough variety and really as you said, how much meat can you eat! lol. Once you can add vegies, it will be easier to maintain. Also there are some proponents out there that allow a couple of "cheats" or…
  • I think you need a new gym too! All gyms should have olympic sets and curl bars and an extensive library of DBS. I bought my own exercise ball on AMAZON and have been able to Phase one at home with what I have. All exercises except as you point out for the prone jackknife can be done with out machines in phase one with…
  • Yes, hot oat bran cereal is what you want, check the ingredients. You can cook it just like oatmeal or mix it into yogurt or whatever. Not bad!

  • It is tough for night workers. Not only does poor sleep contribute to difficult weight loss, it totally screws with your metabolism, some times it feels like you are eating all the time! I generally use the midnight to midnight scheme, my shift is 6pm to 8 am. I eat when I get home and call it lunch! When I get up I eat…

  • SW 184 CW 171 GW 154 TL so far 13# I have eased up a bit and am losing about a pound a week. I added two pieces of whole grain bread with breakfast, the little bit of oat bran wasn't enough. I also have a couple of small squares of dark chocolate a couple of times a week for a treat. This sunday I'm having a big meal at…
  • Got mine on amazon too. I found Hodgen's mill brand at my local stop and shop. amazon was cheaper--Bob's Red Mill.

  • Save your money and buy the Dukan Diet. You can get it for about 12 bucks on amazon.
  • I'm in: Here's the pattern: SW 184 CW 172 GW 166 UW 154 I work nights with 2-3 regular nights off, I weigh in after a "regular" night of sleep, usually Tuesdays.
  • I am half way to my goal and have been stuck for about two weeks. I am eating a few more calories in the form of whole grains and some fat, still keeping to about 1200 to 1400 a day. I am not exercising as much as I'd like so I am going to ramp that up for a couple of weeks to see if it makes a difference. It is so…
  • I have been walking with Leslie for about six months. I LOVE her DVD's, I have several that I got for a good price on ebay. The walk slim 5 mile tape is awesome. I can't believe what good aerobic shape it gets you into. I ran/walked a 5K in March and averaged 13 minute miles, so much easier than jogging and still a great…
  • I use the brisk walking option for the slower miles and general aerobics for more vigorous walks. I like the previous post about 100 for each mile, that sounds about right.
  • I'm with you. I am three weeks in. I'm still sore, I love the workouts but am appreciating the down time. That prone jackknife thingy kills me, I keep falling off the ball! I am working out at home using the modifications, I'll have to head to gym soon as I am running out of heavy dumbells.
  • oat bran and greek yogurt. I work nights, and non fat yogurt and oatmeal/gran at the end of night get me through.
  • I lost 5 pounds doing five days of attack. I am in the cruise phase now and have lost 11 pounds so far. I seem to be stuck for right now so will be doing some modifications to make sure I'm getting enough calories. it's easy to finish the day with a severe deficit which I'm assuming will contribute to a plateau. GOOD…
  • i'm with you, i feel great! can't quite get the hang of the prone jackknife but I'll give it time. I can't believe how much i sweat!
  • I use agave to sweeten my plain yogurt, a little goes a long way and can help with cravings. I use stevia in my oat bran in the morning and again, helps my sweet tooth and helps me to stay on track.
  • Hello all Weight 173 Body fat 31.3 No restrictions but am using the Dukan Diet currently Goals: Weight 154 % body fat 25% A chin up!! Starting today! I used to lift many years ago, my husband works out all the time so will help me with my journey! My biggest fear is looking like a fool on the exercise ball! I
  • Be vigilant! With my hubby, it's a glass of wine at the end of the day. A month in, i have indulged in a wine spritzer now and then. As for baking, it's not like you don't know what his fabulous baking tastes like, tell him to start working on a fabulous confection that you can reward yourself with when you get to goal and…
  • Trader Joe's makes a great fat free greek yogurt. When I am feeling cheap, I have also tried our local market's brand, not too bad! I have lost successfully having one fruited yogurt a day. It does have a little sugar in it but hasn't impeded my loss. For the plain yogurt, I add a little stevia and vanilla, tastes great!
  • the book is on its way from amazon, can't wait to get started.
  • I am in my 50s and have had a tough time losing weight. My sister used the Dukan to lose 10 pounds she didn't need to lose (lol) and we are twins so I didn't have the excuse that it was my age keeping me back. I started about 4 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds so far. I was very strict during the attack phase but have…
  • welcome! i wonder if you didn't have much to lose. I have been on the plan for almost four weeks and have lost 10 pounds of a total of 30 to get to my true weight. So far it's been OK. I do have a small mount of extra fat and dark chocolate everyday to keep me on track and motivated. hasn't impeded my progress yet! I'll…
  • I work nights so I weigh in skivies when I wake up at around 3 pm.
