  • I log everything. I am going to Fogo de Chao tonight and plan on eating all the things. I have no idea what the actual calories/macros will be as I don't even know what meats and salad stuff I will decide to have, so I just found a general entry and put in like 3000 calories (which is probably a little overkill) just so I…
  • How do they compare taste/price wise to spaghetti squash? That's been my go-to since I had to give up gluten.
  • No. Kind of the other way around for me. Self-growth led to more confidence which led to consistently working on my health and fitness which led to losing weight.
  • Depends on the person. I'm an every day person because I like data and trend lines. I have a friend who never gets on a scale and uses other means of tracking progress.
  • Here's the TedTalk... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuIlsN32WaE
  • I am a big walker. It's my primary mode of transportation. :) I am also getting into doing some bodyweight workouts. I'm not much of a gym-goer.
  • Definitely agree. I am a binge eater. I have made a ton of progress by talking about it, meditating, getting out of the house, and asking all of the questions @jayjay_90 listed. It goes way deeper than just making yourself stop. Keeping the foods I tend to binge on out of the house helps. And when at the store and tempted…
  • Holidays wouldn't be so bad for me except when people decide everything has to be made gluten free for me. Then I feel guilty and like I have to try everything, even if I don't want it, because people went through the effort just for me. Then I inevitably get sick because not everyone actually knows what gluten is or how…
  • I'll be 30 in less than two weeks. I'll come back then and start friending everyone. ;)
  • It really is whatever works best for you. I weigh every day that I am at home and use trendweight to track. I don't get frustrated with the daily/weekly fluctuations because I know there are sooo many factors that affect weight. The daily data is fascinating. But the trend is a better visual of what is actually going on. I…
  • I really dislike using the word cheat. If I decide to eat over my goal one day, it is just a decision I make. I am not "cheating" on anything.
  • I'm trying out HealthyWage. It is a little more flexible.
  • Always like more nerdy friends, feel free to add me.
  • I hate cooking, so I tend to eat the same easy meals a lot. Personal preference, I don't see it as boring. Edit to add: I also have a few medical things that certain foods help or hinder, so that can be incentive for me to keep things "boring".
  • I use it pretty much daily, helps my IBS. But you have to ease into it for sure.
  • I am trying something called HealthyWage (http://tinyurl.com/hw2hfh7 - not sure if linking is allowed, will remove if needed). I didn't like that dietbet was a set % and a set timeframe. This one has more flexibility so I could chose a slower loss rate. And the hormonal weight gain thing is better with this one because you…
  • I use something similar to Soylent as well, Space Nutrients. I just use it to supplement when I don't feel like making something and to keep me from eating out so much. Although I do go some days where that is all I eat. It is pretty decent. It works for me because I hate cooking, don't mind drinking my food, and it is…
  • I won't really be tracking on Christmas and New Years Eve since we always do finger foods and snack-type stuff. Just too difficult to keep track. But I will be consciously trying to eat more of the healthy-ish stuff than the unhealthy stuff and will stick to my 6 hour eating window.
  • Hit a plateau for a few weeks. Then last week was good, but I think I got one of those "whoosh" things this week. CSW: 197.6 Wk1: 195.8 Wk2: 187.7
  • I fast 2 or 3 days a week. It has helped so much with my IBS. Just giving the system a break for a while does wonders. I will be continuing even when I hit maintenance and just adjusting calories on eating days.
  • Tattoos and some fitness related stuff (new bike, etc).
  • MFP start weight: 230 CW: 195 GW by Christmas: 180 Ultimate GW: 150
  • I use 100% Food a lot. Just add water (or milk or whatever liquid you want). Taste is decent. I usually add a little cinnamon. I hate cooking and food prep, so it has really helped with my quality of life. ;)
  • It is part of the natural cycle in a woman's body. Temperature fluctuates, complexion fluctuates, hormones fluctuate. The pitch of our voices even fluctuate. Weight is just one more thing and it usually comes right back down after a few days. Don't let it stress you out unless the overall trend is going up.
  • Cheating for me is breaking a promise or lying. Just like cheating in a relationship. And I do think that can apply in that you can make promises to yourself as to how much or what you will eat. For example, I have promised myself that I will average 1500 calories per day over the course of this week. If I do not keep that…
  • Yep. I'm 28 and according to all lab work and other health markers, I am in great condition. My doctor raved about my cholesterol and I am "anything but diabetic." Everything was well within the normal range or better. But I am obese (almost to overweight now) and have been almost my entire life. And I know that is…
  • Hi! I am Jessica. I have been using MFP on and off for quite a while. My highest weight was 230. Got down to 180 last year, but gained about 20 back over the last year due to some relationship/life/mental health upheaval. Back on it now. Hope to get back down to the 180 by Christmas and go from there.
  • I have celiac. I can get quite full on meat and veggies (other grains tend to upset my IBS, so I also stay away from rice, corn, etc). I am also slightly lactose-intolerant. I'll sometimes eat cheese or put some cream in my coffee if I am really wanting some, but I always pay for it later. And I always manage to be…
  • I also have this problem. I know how to eat healthy, but that doesn't stop the stress impulses. I can't recommend therapy enough.
  • I have tried quite a few different options. I hate cooking and don't want to make others make special for me. So I have concluded that the best option for me is to just skip it. :) I tend to enjoy fruit or chocolate anyway, so making alternatives really just isn't worth it to me.
