I had done on obstacle race late last year but this was way more demanding. I ran it with my wife and her friend. It took us about 3 hours to complete the course. I struggled on the rope climb as I was so excited to get started I forgot my gloves. The ropes were caked in mud and next to impossible to grip. My wife…

I am just waking to the pain from yesterdays Spartan and all I can say is expect to have the time of your life! Don't wear heavy socks that bunch up in your shoes after getting wet (lesson learned yesterday). Id suggest compression shorts, tight fitting shirt, light socks, comfortable shoes, and gloves.

I weigh myself pretty much daily, but only for accountability. When I was heavy I would stay away from the scale as not knowing some how made it ok to eat bad...so I do it as a reminder. I measure my success in the mirror, by how far or fast I can run, by how much I can lift, and how I feel.

2003 Chevy Silverado work truck with 207k miles. Original motor. Love this thing...takes a beating and keeps going. 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa 4k miles...4th motor.

It should've been when the doctor said I had high this and that, but honestly my moment came when I worked for a company that had uniforms. I had gotten so round that I busted the button off the size 38 pants and I decided that enough was enough...there was no way I was going to ask my boss to order size 40 pants.

-
hour of chest and core strength training, with 30 minutes of cardio...most likely stationary bike as my left heel is killing me.
-
Glad you did so well. Looked like a great event.

My wife and I are signed up for the Spartan and the warrior. I would love to see some fellow Indy MFP'ers there! I think were running Spartan at 10:00. As for the Toughmudder, I so want to run the October one in Kentucky. Something about a 13 mile OCR scares me, but I am determined to rise to the challenge.

I find it interesting that on a global fitness board not only have I found a group from my town, but in this case were practically neighbors! I live at Arlington and Shelbyville.

If we can put a team of 6 or more toghether I would love to get together on this. Same on the expectations as Ive put cardio on the back burner for strength training till spring...but in the spirit of fun lets see what we can put together. Plus one for the Indy MFP team.
