  • I do it all the time with my food entries. This allows me to see if I have the calories to spare for a craving when then strike. If I don't have the calories I wrestle the craving down to the ground. If I have the calories I will assess if I really want to cave to the crave! It also keeps me on track for meal planning for…
  • I use Splenda in my coffee every day. I tried using Stevia thinking it was more "natural" but my tastebuds like Splenda better. I am still losing too. I have friends who cannot use artificial sweetners for various reasons, one of them being no weight loss but I am fortunate that I can still enjoy my coffee and lose weight.
  • I haven't decided if I am doing the Color Run, Color Me Rad or Run or Dye this year but I will be participating in a color event of some kind. Last year I did the Diva Dash and the Ruckus Run 5K which were both pretty awesome. I liked the Ruckus Run better but it was more brutal too. I'm figuring the Color Run won't hurt…
  • I added you as a friend! Welcome to MFP. I have found it to be very easy to use and all of the people that I have become friends with are very nice. You sound like you are ready to realize that this journey isn't going to be quick but you will do fine with that mindset. I am doing the same thing. Trying to eat healthier. I…
  • HI! I have sent my friend request over. Have you had the knee checked out? I was having issues with mine last year about this time and before setting out on my exercise plan, I had it checked to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong with it. I figured it was because I had stopped exercising and had gained some weight…
  • I love my bras by Moving Comfort and I wear between a 40DD and a 42DD depending on the time of the month. I run in these and my boobs do not move. I also have a couple of Champion sports bras that I wear for things like weight lifting and general low key exercise. They don't remove the bounce but they do limit the bounce.…
  • Happy New You!! Welcome to the journey. I have been traveling this road for some time but this will be our year!!
  • I broke my pinkie toe the Thursday before Thanksgiving of this year and it still has days of pain. It all depends on the shoes that I am wearing. There really isn't much they will do for that toe. They will most likely buddy tape it too the nearest toe but sometimes this is more painful. Getting back to running will depend…
  • If you take SPIN 4-5 days a week, you are definitely building muscle! Although SPIN is a very high cardio class, it also builds muscle in the legs, especially the quads, hamstrings, glutes and calf muscles. Do you just sit and spin or do you actively participate in the climbs, jumps, sprints and heaven forbid the hovers.…
  • It isn't the outside temps that sideline my outside running so much as the dark! I have a very early window in the morning to exercise so running at 4:30 in the morning outside at this time of the year is not an option. I would run outside if my schedule allowed for a better time of day but that is not an option. So until…
  • I think BMF may also be Body Media Fit. It is a device that one uses to track calories burned, sleep activity, daily activity level, and a few other things. The food information from My Fitness Pal can now link to the database for Body Media Fit Devices. I have one and having the two sites "talk" to each other is great. I…
  • HI Dee!! My friends and family call me Dee too! I am always willing to share tips on diet and exercise. I haven't been a member on MFP very long but I have been on a long weightloss journey. Please feel free to add me as a friend if you want. My diary is open to my friends so you can actually see what I eat. Sometimes it…
  • My first goal is to reach 180 pounds so that is 55 to go. Once I reach that. Will set a new goal. I don't want to discourage myself like I have in the past. I am eating my regular food only watching portions more. I exercise 4-5 days a week. I run/walk, lift weights and Spin. I am always up for more support here and I am…
  • I started with the C25K program a while ago. I now run/walk about 3 miles 3-4 days a week. I take a Spin class twice a week and I lift at least twice a week too. I have completed 5 5Ks this year so far. My fist obstacle one was in September. It was the Shape Diva Dash. Next week I am doing the Ruckus 5K. I cannot do all of…
  • You could always be 'that neighbor' who hands out raisins or gramola bars :)
  • It makes me feel less old, it makes me feel stronger and most of all..... I can eat more than 1200 calories every day!
  • It will be great to have more friends/support on this ride. I am so tired of the rollercoaster that I need to get off!
  • I also heartily endorse the C25K program. I have had great success with it. I started running about 3 years ago and I go back to the program time and again to increase my pace. There are days that I still dislike running. I have never had that "Runners HIgh" that everyone talks about but I still run. I have done 4 5K races…
  • Sending my request too. I am 47 and starting the journey again. I have been off and on the wagon too many times to keep track. I am hoping with support here that I will find the motivation to do this for the long haul. My biggest issue is with eating. I love food. I won't deny it. Although I would love to never have to…
  • I have about 50-80 pounds that I would love to get rid of too. I had done very well at the beginning of the year but my motivation has been sorely lacking lately. I recently signed up here because it communicates with my body media database. I am hoping to stay motivated through the holidays. I can definitely use some…
