I do T25. I really like the workouts. I'm getting better and don't have to use the modifier quite as much. I tried these workouts a couple of years ago when I was really heavy and a couch potato. Got injured after the first work out and could barely walk. I lost 50 more pounds and started a very active job. Now I can…

I agree with the above. Go with .5 pounds per week! It really was a game changer for me. I've been much more successful since I switched my goal. That extra 250 or so calories make a huge difference. That's a nice snack or small treat.

Congrats. You look a lot younger! Great job.

I'm doing T25 right now. I would like to do Insanity after I finish this program. I'm told Insanity is very difficult. I have a couple of questions. Did you guys follow the Beach Body nutrition guide? My booklet recommended 1600 cals! I would be starving if I tried to eat that few calories. MFP has me at 2400 cals to lose…

That is not a tiny success. That is a huge success and a very valuable insight to have gained. Hold on to it! Depression sucks! I've been there. When I was morbidly obese I would stay in bed all day with the covers over my head. But healthy eating and vigorous exercise will help your depression more than anything. I got…

If you'll be in a car just bring a cooler. Pack it with fruit and healthy snack. I recently road tripped for a week. I would just stop at a Wal Mart every couple of days and buy more apples, pears, bananas, grapes, etc. I also ate a lot of baby carrots and hummus. You can bring sliced turkey breast and whole wheat bread.…

Good job! You look great.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll swap a serving of fruit for some nuts and maybe be a little more generous when cooking with oils. I cooked a curry with coconut oil for dinner that was pretty dynamite. I definitely don't want to screw with my libido or my internal organ health. From using the search function I've read…

I'm 33. Feel free to add me. And that goes for everyone else too! I need support. My social feed is pretty dormant. A lot of the people I had from 3 years ago when I signed up haven't logged in over a year.

Welcome back. I certainly know the feeling but I've found as long as I keep picking myself up and trying again the general trend has been good. I've learned a lot from my failures. I gained 60 pounds back in 2012 but I stuck with it and now I've shed those pounds and more. Keep at it! You're worth it!

I just make sure to budget some calories to smash a 1200 cal chipotle burrito a couple times a week. I always log it and make sure to do a good workout on those days. I've failed miserably with cheat meals/days but I had a pretty poor realationship with food. I think most people who become morbidly obese struggle with that…

We also plan a menu. We pick six dinners for the week and my wife makes a grocery list. I do a big haul on Sunday's. Usually I hit Trader Joes and Aldi. Then we just take turns cooking. We usually box up leftovers to take to work for lunch the next day. I never eat in the cafeteria or get take out for lunch anymore. You…

I did WW 3 times in the last 5 years. I only did online. I lost weight each time. In fact the first time I lost 90 pounds but gained most of it back. You have to track every day. If you stop you will inevitably go back to old habits. Same goes for this site! If you convert points to calories you can tell their algorithm is…

There is a binge eating recovery group on MFP somewhere. The board moves slow and there aren't a lot of participants but there are a couple of challenges going on right now. I'll try and find a link.

These threads tend to get way off track but I will throw my 2 cents in... I got sober off of booze and hard drugs 7 years ago. Within two years I had gained 100 pounds. I tried all the diets and simply wasn't willing to admit I was addicted to food, but my life got darker and darker. I lost 90 pounds and then gained it all…

I just went cold turkey off sweets and refined stuff. It suxed for a few days but now I don't miss it. I enjoy a nice bowl of fruit with dinner and it satisfies me. I'm also one of those people who lacks self control when it comes to junk food. I envy those of you who have added it back in in moderation. I just can't do it.

Congrats. You look great!

Awesome transformation!

I didn't know this group existed. I've currently been binge free since 2/16/13. I joined a 12 step group which really helped me. I look forward to joining the discussion. I'm on an 8 day logging streak and my goal is to log for everyday during 2014.

This has also been my experience. I cut out refined sugar and instead eat plenty or fruit and good carbs like brown rice, sweet potatoes, sprouted grain breads, etc. Lots of people said I couldn't maintain it but it's been 11 months now and I've made it through birthdays, weddings and every major holiday while sticking to…

Log, log and log! You'd be amazed at how much knowledge you can gain just by tracking your food and seeing what your macros come up to naturally. Then you can slowly focus on cutting away at the poor foods. In giving up some of the poor food choices you will gain good control of your blood sugars and you may find that you…

Feel free to add me. I've been doing MFP for a year or so but haven't been logging for a few months. I'm on an 8 day logging streak though! Could use the support.

Happy New year everyone!
