  • I tried taking 100 mg of magnesium glycinate for sleep. Running to the bathroom every 2 hours kept me awake, so it might help you!
  • I'm baaaaaaaaack!!! 12 weeks post-op and I've been able to ride the last three mornings. My foot still hurts and my trainer is making me use the mounting block for now, but I was about to walk/trot/canter/rollback/and try one spin. The little roan mare I've been riding absolutely cleaned up at the rodeo and she's even…
  • @mgood4x4 Still not much to report from here, I'm afraid. I cannot believe how slowly this foot is healing. I should be cleared to ride in another 3 weeks, but right now I am skeptical. It honestly doesn't feel much better than it did 2-3 weeks ago. I can walk without limping now, but it still hurts. It's rodeo time down…
  • I think you are right about that one. I did click "profile," but it clearly did not take me there! I have seen a number of posts that do appear to be bots, though. They could be used just to test the system even if there is no immediately obvious payout. I still think my theory has merit, though.
  • I'm not sure. It just says the join date was 12:36 PM. You could be right. No one has responded to the post, so there's no telling if it's a real person or not.
  • Some of them do appear to be bots. I just saw a guy who joined today and made just one post - asking how to cancel - within one hour.
  • I have a theory that may apply here. I am an IT professional. I have been working in IT for 26 years now, starting in user support. Over the years I have seen so many tickets with incomplete information. We would get things like "I need some software installed" (any particular software?), "Help! I can't access <folder>"…
  • @mgood4x4 Sorry I haven't had a lot to contribute. Recovery is slow over here. Still hurts to walk, though that hasn't stopped me from getting my steps back up. I credit my flexibility training with allowing me to mount from the ground. Not everyone can get her foot as high as an aerialist! Good to see you are still…
  • On a related note, a few years ago I had some friends on Facebook who were asking for "volunteers" to try their "powerful weight loss/hair growth/detox/whatever" gummies. They would send you the goods for free, but you had to send a private message to be included. Out of pure curiosity, I decided to ask about one. What was…
  • @mgood4x4 Yes, i got released from the boot last Wednesday, but my foot is still very painful. I didn't expect the recovery to be quite this slow. At the moment, I am not even tempted to put that foot in a stirrup! The doctor said I should be at 100% at around the 12 weeks mark, so 7 weeks from now. We shall see. I'm…
  • @jumpthemoon Your boy is lovely! I hope you have many wonderful rides ahead of you. I am not familiar with TRT Method training. I will have to look that one up. It's kind of funny that you are discovering dressage at the same time I've gotten tired of it. It's a gorgeous day here - 70 and sunny! - so I got out and…
  • @mgood4x4 Well, the year has started slowly for me. Recovery from my surgery has been much slower and harder than I expected. Not sure if it's my age or if I just had unrealistic expectations. I spent a week on crutches before I could even take baby steps. Since then, every day has been a struggle. I haven't been out to…
  • @mgood4x4 Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I haven't ridden the past few weeks because I broke my darn foot! I'm in a boot for now with limited mobility. To make matters worse, in the strangest coincidence, I broke the foot I was scheduled to have surgery on next Thursday anyway. So, I will be out of the saddle for…
  • My family is all omnivores, but we're Polish and the traditional Wigilia (Christmas dinner) is a meatless affair. The stars of the show are mushroom potato soup and, of course, pierogi!
  • I had a Bodymedia. I was so upset when Jawbone bought them and destroyed it! Literally overnight all the information became worthless. I ended up buying a Fitbit Charge HR 2 and I'm still using it 8 years later. I've tried the newer models, but didn't care for them, so I will be using this one until it breaks or the…
  • I think I like this theory. All those years of Spanish will make me immune to the caloric cost of Tex-Mex!
  • It is helpful for me because I seem to have fun house mirrors in my bathroom. I spent a few years thinking I wasn't as big as I was and since I lost the weight I keep thinking I'm bigger.
  • Well, this is interesting. I am 49 and can say, without hesitation, that my 40s have been the best, most relaxing decade of my life. Maybe it's just that my 20s and 30s were so completely exhausting that everything that's hit in the last 9 years has been a breeze by comparison. <shrug>
  • I like this, but please let us choose for which conversations we want to activate it. I made a comment on a post a few years ago and I am STILL getting notifications every time someone else comments even though I lost interest years ago!
  • Love the costumes! We didn't do much for Halloween. I went to the barn party (boyfriend stayed home sick) and passed out candy to trick-or-treaters. I'm so glad to hear Slate is recovering! What a scary experience and what a brave boy! My Princess probably would have panicked, thrashed, and killed us both. I'm still…
  • I was a pack a day smoker for 17-18 years. I quit using Chantix, but I also took a few steps before I started it. First, I started breaking my triggers. Like, I stopped smoking in my car. I was allowed to have a cigarette when I got to work, but not until then. So, my car quit being a trigger. I quit smoking after meals.…
  • @mgood4x4 I actually had it on my to do list to check out this thread today. Good to see you and your good news! It's hot down here. Miserably hot. Hasn't rained in weeks and we are under extreme heat advisories from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM every day. I rode a few times at 6:00 AM, but I just can't do that and then work until…
  • @mgood4x4 Good to see you are getting out and riding! It looks beautiful where you are! All of my riding has been in the arena lately, but I am happy to be doing it ~3 times a week. And on horses I can never afford. :D I looked at Equilab, but it's awfully expensive for an app! What do you get for that price? I am located…
  • I have a box of Poptarts in my pantry (don't judge - it's hurricane season! ) and it lists "one pastry"/52 grams as the serving size.
  • I work from home, but I don't sit for 8 hours a day. I do regular workouts before work and over lunch and I pace during calls, so I get at least 20k steps a day.
  • @jumpthemoon We had a really nice Spring here, much cooler than normal. We had some strong storms over the last few days that keep knocking out the power, but I won't complain too much. Summer starts next week with highs in the triple digits. :'( I hope you get to enjoy the cool a bit longer where you are! I've no idea how…
  • Sorry to hear about the woes with your stall panels. That's very frustrating! I am also sorry to hear about Sunny. I hope he is doing well. <3 Princess and I have been doing very well. Still riding western. My trainer has me riding her as well as several of his horses, depending on what he wants to work on that day.…
  • I hate it when people rate a recipe, good or bad, and then list out 12 different changes they made to it. That's not even the same recipe!!
  • We love cruises and usually go twice a year. In fact, we just got off a nine-night two weeks ago. I don't set any rules for myself - I'm on vacation! - but I also don't let myself use it as an excuse to slack off in the weeks leading up to the trip or the weeks that follow. I stuck to my calories and my workout schedule up…
