Well I am very tardy to the party but hope it's not to late for me to join: Goals: 1. Move 30 minutes every day 2. Stay under my MFP calorie goals 3. Stay within my MFP macronutrient goals 4. Drink 8 glasses of water a day 5. No fast food 6. Track my food honestly 7. Be positive (I tend to be a glass half-empty person...)

Hope it's not too late to join. Old me: 224 Current me: 224 Future me: 145 I haven't found what works for me yet. The concept is eat less and move more (but currently I have it backwards....) Need all the help I can get!!

I 'm in. Although that's a lot of water. May just float away!!!

the sweating, feeling faint, etc. could also be low blood sugar. Is it possible you didn't have enough carbs? It's so hard to find the right balance...
-
^^^This. Definitely.

Your A1c is an average of your last 3 months of blood sugars. You should check your blood sugar daily -- first thing in the AM and before and after random meals to see how the foods you are eating are affecting your blood sugars. Lower your carbs, stay away from processed foods and simple carbs (cookies, cakes, white rice…

I steam a bag of frozen green beans and use that as a substitute for pasta. I also julienne zucchini and use spaghetti squash. I have a wheat intolerance so I have to find substitutes, although I must agree, if I could have my way, there is no substitute for the real thing....

I love my FitBit. It reminds me to move, and because I have it linked to MFP, and it is familiar with my daily movements, it gives me a much more accurate calorie goal (and lower) than MFP does. Now if I could only remember to follow THAT maybe the scale would budge. It is pricey, but I really like it. I have the One.

It's impossible to eat when you have wet nails. I tend to binge in the evening. Instead, I could paint my nails. That might get me through. You are brilliant!!!

Are you lactose intolerant? If not, why can't you make a shake with milk or greek yogurt?

I don't think sugar is worth tracking. At the end of the day, sugar is just a carb. All refined carbs (white bread, white pasta, white rice, cakes, cookies, candy) are empty calories and contain little or no health benefits. If you track your carbs, eat healthy carbs (that contain fiber!!) and keep them within whatever…
-
This is brilliant.
-
It's not just sugar, because sugar is just a carb. It's probably all refined carbs that are contributing to this for you. If you cut out all refined carbs (white bread, white pasta, white rice, cookies, cakes, candy etc.) you will have much better luck than just isolating sugar.

one of the women I work with has a treadmill desk. it is the coolest thing. her computer and phone are on a large tray (where the treadmill's monitors usually are) and there are rails she can hold onto. She walks all day long on this thing while she is working. Albeit not very fast but she is moving all day. It really is…

chicken breasts hard boiled eggs beans/lentils cottage cheese hummus greek yogurt

Why would you switch sugar to track fiber when fiber has it's own place to track?
-
This is absolutely correct. I am diabetic, and only track total total carbs, not sugar. Since refined sugar makes your blood sugar spike and then crash, I have to make sure to limit my intake of refined sugar items, but as long as my carb intake is within my limits, I can have cake or cookies, in moderation.

Just do it. I quit 2 years ago and have never looked back. Drink a ton more water now than I ever did. And if you need the fizzy, i just drink a plain seltzer right out of the can.

I use my HRM to determine calories when I am on my treadmill, not what the treadmill says.

egg salad, tuna salad, whitefish salad. Or, you can just take the lox and lettuce, tomato, onions, and cream cheese off the bagel, and save 300+ calories and 60+ grams of carbs...

104 pounds removed. Lost implies you want to find it again, and I know you don't ever want to find those 104 pounds ever again. Congratulations on your accomplishment.

My husband had it over Thanksgiving. Knocked him flat on his back for a week. Take good care of yourself. Drink lots of fluids. And lots of rest. Hope you feel better, soon.

I have a julienne peeler and I peel zucchini and use that as spaghetti. Or you can steam a bag of green beans and put the meat sauce over the green beans.
