Hi — was looking for guidance on setting a calorie goal. Am 62 pretty sedentary (no intentional exercise) and Type 2 diabetic. I weigh 211 pounds. The goal MFP set for me is 1390. Grateful for any suggestions.

Question about weighing food
So 1/2 cup (4oz) of cottage cheese is 117 grams. 1/2 cup (4oz) of pineapple chunks is 122 grams; 1/2 cup of cranberry sauce is 140 grams; 4 ounces of turkey is 112 grams. Why wouldn't 4 ounces of any kind of food weigh the same in grams? TIA for any explanation.

I'm really struggling with feeling satisfied and staying within my calorie budget. I would very much appreciate ideas as to what to eat, how often to eat, etc., as cleanly, but simply, as possible. Thanks in advance for your help.
