I'm 5'9 149 with 23% bf and am looking to do the same. I already do HIIT and weights and am getting nowhere :(
-
Oh wow this is great! Thank you so much :) It definitely helps with regards to giving me some sort of perspective
-
Well right now I've incorporated much for weight lifting and HIIT intervals into my workouts...hopefully they will work! And I've deiced to step away from the scale while I work towards this goal. Obviously if my clothes stop fitting I'll need to revisit it, but (as you stated) I'm afraid that I'll get discouraged or freak…

Please don't do it. I tried it (the injections overseen by an MD)....I lost a lot of weight but gained it right back. Fad diets don't work and any weight you lose will be water weight and precious muscle.

As someone who struggled with anorexia and then with bingeing as I recovered, I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to hear that you are seeking help and are working towards bettering your health. It is such a dark, lonely place and you're right, it's not necessarily the weight or your physical condition that's as bad as…

I tried it a while back and while it did give me more energy for my workouts it made me jittery and I could never sleep. I lost a few pounds but gained everything back once I stopped taking the pills. Pills just don't cut it in the long run....clean eating and getting active will

Good to hear! I guess I should also throw in the fact that I've suffered from an eating disorder in the past (anorexia and then bingeing) and so it terrifies me either way whether I'm counting calories (which can make me obsessive if im not careful) or not counting them (I can overindulge if I'm not careful). But when I…

I'm 5'9 and my goal weight is 136 ( my weight for most of my adult life). Tall girl weight goals are very different than short girl weight goals :)
-
Interesting. That would totally make sense though
-
This. She said that it will take longer to shed the body fat than it will to build muscle and to basically step away from the scale for 3 months to give my body time to change. That TERRIFIES me though!! AHH!
-
115g of protein is much more doable :) good to hear!
-
She told me 18-19% would be optimum for my age, so that's what I'm aiming for I guess.

I've been working out for years and have always been too intimidated by the weights to touch them. This was for several reasons: -I didn't want to bulk up -I thought cardio was the only way to lose weight *I had NO idea how to use them and didn't want to look like an idiot since the weights section at my gym is usually…

It apparently has a TON of sugar alcohols in it. Nothing thus far. Crossing my fingers that everything comes out okay (er....doesn't come out)
-
I was at 135 for a really long time, and ideally would love to get back there. But I've found it's really important to keep body composition in mind. When I work out and tone my muscles I can look much better at a higher weight than I would have previously thought.
-
I"ve tried those in the past, but for me they just don't work. Any kind of "diet food" always leaves me feeling like I didn't really indulge. I think I'd rather have 1/2 a cup of the real stuff than 2 skinny cows. But they are tasty :)
-
Well, that's my problem. I know good and well it's a horrible idea to eat from the package because you never realize just how much you're eating (whether it's chips or ice cream). I have just been ignoring all of this knowledge lately. Here's to eating off of actual plates/bowls!
-
So true. But my problem is I pull out the entire container intending to only have a spoonful or two and end up standing there at the counter eating for 10 minutes. Whoops!
-
Thank you so much for this! This is all stuff that I should know (and do), but I seem to throw everything by the wayside when it comes to eating :( Here's to getting back on track!
-
Glad I'm not the only one! And I wish I could give you some motivation, but I need to find some myself.....sigh
-
I think I might try that. I've counted calories for about 6 months now, so I have a good idea of what's healthy and what's not. I generally don't like junk food and mostly only have a problem when it comes to craving sugar. It's worth a shot though :) thanks!
-
Hhhhmmm That's what I thought. I knew it was near impossible for me to lose that much body fat that fast, especially when I had begun eating poorly and had put on a few pounds :)
-
This is what I tried to tell my sister.......just wanted to see if there was anyone out there who did the injections and KEPT the weight off. I'm skeptical if I'll find any so I figured I'd post.
-
I definitely plan on asking the dietician, but I just saw her assistant for the RMR test today. I couldn't wait until next week so I thought I'd ask on here :)
-
I might try maintanence for a bit, but I'm afraid if I even gain an ounce I won't fit in my wedding dress :( My wedding is in January, so I can't exactly afford to put on any weight. My dress is VERY fitted unfortunately. It's worth a shot after the wedding though.
-
Whew! That makes me feel better :) I am supposed to go back in next week to hear suggestions, so I wouldn't have heard such great news yet.
-
That's the thing...I do a LOT of weight training and toning exercises. I used to focus on only cardio, but within the past 4 months have made probably half of my workouts strength based. And I know everyone will say to not go by the scale, but it's not like my clothes are fitting much better either. I keep my measurements,…

I would love to try chocolate milk, but unfortunately I'm allergic to dairy. I am also following a gluten free diet per my doctor's suggestion (digestive issues) so it's hard to grab something on the go sometimes depending on what ingredients are in a pre-made snack/meal
-
I run when I get home from work at 6pm every night. Then I eat dinner around 7:30.....but because I'm so hungry I can't ever stop eating :(
-
I've never tried a protein shake....it's worth a shot!
