  • Try Think Thin bars. 20 grams of protein and zero sugar. They've been a life saver for me!
  • The only protein bars I eat are Think Thin, and I always use them as a very heavy snack or as a complete meal replacement. Think Thin bars have ZERO sugar and 20 (yes twenty!) grams of protein. Good stuff :)

  • 800 calories is way too little if you're working out twice per day (or if you're not working out at all). Eat more girl! I used to stick to just 1200 per day with 40 minutes of walking and the scale would never budge. I upped it to 1500 calories per day and finally started losing.
  • Glad to know I'm not the only one :) It is frustrating because the opposite should be true.
  • Good idea. I guess I've always gone with instant because they're so easy to throw in my purse when I'm headed out the door.
  • Thanks so much for all of the responses! To clarify: I eat quaker high fiber maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal. I would love to be able to cook eggs as so many of you suggest, but I have to get to work at 6:30 every morning and don't eat breakfast until around 8. If I ate before I left my house at 6:00 I would be…
  • Do you mind my asking if chromium really helps curb bingeing? I've struggled with this my whole life. I know I'm not hungry, but I CRAVE food sometimes and it's like there's nothing you can do to stop it. It's awful. I think that unless someone has experienced these issues they can never fully understand what it's like to…
  • But if she's breastfeeding then she would certainly need all of those calories....I'm not saying she is for sure, but with a son so young it would definitely be possible.
  • Have you tried Think Thin bars? They are AMAZING!!! I do GF and these have been a God send. They have 230 calories, 20 grams of protein (yes 20!) and 0g of sugar. They're super tasty and so good for you. They also keep you full for a really long time. I eat them for breakfast, as a meal when I'm on the run, or to satisfy a…
  • Gotcha. Thanks so much :)
  • So you're saying I should eat 1400-1500 BEFORE I add in exercise calories (i.e. If I burn 400 calories with exercise I should eat around 1800)? I went from 146 to 142 but I've plateaued. I've tried switching up my exercise routine and altering my calories (eating more some days, and less others) but nothing is working.…
  • I have a desk job from 8-6 everyday but then most days of the week (usually 5 or 6 if I'm good) I hit the gym. I do spring intervals for about 50 minutes (run at 7.5 mph for 2 minutes, then walk at 4 mph for 1 minute) and then I do a bit of weight (2 sets of 15 lunges on each leg, 3 rounds of arm reps with 5 lb weights, ab…
  • @strout I know you've probably done this several times for people on here but I was wondering if you could help me with my calories. Just like everyone else has said, MFP sets me at 1200/day. My stats are below Height: 5'8 Age: 25 Weight: 142 Goal Weight (I was at this previously before I started a desk job): 134 Body fat…
  • try making these snacks that taste JUST like ice cream sandwiches... -Take 2 graham crackers and put a nice size dollop of cool whip in between them. Push down to form a "sandwich". -Freeze at least 1 hour The frozen cool whip tastes identical to ice cream but has just a fraction of the calories. You can also add sprinkles…
  • I've heard this before so I'll have to give it a shot. I guess it's so frustrating because sometimes those extra calories make me finally start losing again, and then sometimes they make me gain :( I wish there was a rhyme or reason to it.....
  • I usually try to stick to roughly 1200 calories but I know I probably don't count every single calorie since I don't measure. Maybe I should shoot for 1400 then..... I'm glad I'm not the only one though! It doesn't make any sense scientifically but I just didn't know if it happened to anyone else...
  • 1200 is what you should *net*. That means if you burn 400 calories from exercising you should be eating 1600. This is why you're so hungry.
  • "You have such a pretty face".....ugh what about the rest of me?
  • I hate when people pronounce "supposedly" as "supposebly". There is NO "B"!!!
  • I tried the link but it says the page can't be found. My MFP calorie count is 1200 per day. I've always heard your net calorie count should not drop below 1200 so I usually eat all my exercise calories but was wondering if I'm sabotaging my efforts. And I realize it's going to take longer because I have less to lose...it's…
  • For some reason I swear I've read lots of people on here talking about how I need to eat ALL of my exercise calories...hhhmmm. I'll try to not eat them all and then see what happens....patience is a virtue :)
  • i'm down here in the middle of the blizzard that hit the southeast and i'm stuck in my apartment with no healthy food :( all i have is frozen and packages items but i've managed to stay under my calorie count for the past 2 days. it's just the same old food is getting, well...old. trying to stay on the wagon!
  • Oh, and these may have been discussed on this site already but if you girls are looking for high protein bars try Think Thin. Their peanut butter ones are amazing! I found them at whole foods. Publix and Kroger also carries them. They have 20 grams of protein and NO SUGAR. They've been a God send during this time :) They…
  • I know. I am eating a TON of fiber and protein which helps keep me full. The hardest part is when people want to go out at the last minute for a big dinner and I only left 400 calories for dinner in my plan. That's hard. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has to plan :) This site definitely helps a lot bc we are all in…
  • I'm glad I'm doing MFP and it is working (slowly), but it is so darn hard to stay under my calorie count on days when I don't work out and can subtract points! My calorie limit is 1200. I know I can eat more when I work out, but on days when I don't have time it is SO difficult to only eat 1200 calories...that isn't a lot…
  • I feel you. I'm not overweight but I sit at a desk all day and have lost a lot of muscle tone. Even at 143 being 5'8 I have high cholesterol and high blood sugar. I've got to change my diet and exercise habits to feel better about myself and to get healthy. I need to get rid of the sugar and cellulite. Still, when I tell…
  • Just went to Ann Taylor excited about hitting up their sales. The saleslady proceeded to suggest dresses and mentioned that by her best guess I was a size 12....except I'm a size 6 (size 4 in their clothes bc they run really large) really?! :( I'm not saying at all that a size 12 is large, but it sucks when someone…
  • i've been trying so hard to do good this week but i've fallen off the wagon :( with my birthday and christmas being 3 days apart there is always a lot of celebrating this time of year. i think i got scared of seeing my calorie count so i haven't logged on in a few days....ugh. so mad at myself. i've also realized that so…
  • Thanks guys!! I'm on a very low dose (Alesse and Ortho tri-cylen lo previously) so hopefully it won't be too bad. i think i just got all worried after reading all of these scary message boards filled with horror stories :( I'm stopping my pills after Christmas so we'll see how it goes....
  • @cflorkie how tall are you? 95 lbs is REALLY tiny! plus, that photo of your "thinspiration" shows a girl looking borderline malnourished. please don't think i'm trying to jump down your throat...just asking :)
