And 3-4 weeks for 5 lbs is fine. Pick up a 5 lb weight and there is some heft to it! Give yourself credit for losing that 5 lbs. Takes time. I also recommend strength training, that really stokes the metabolism!

5'3". 1400 calories with adjustments for exercise. 1200 just wasn't working for me so I am fine with slower weight loss. My goal is a satisfied, sustainable, healthy lifestyle.

46 years old and I noticed from 40-45 it was a little harder to maintain my weight. Then at 45, bam, here's 5 lbs. The older you get the harder it gets metabolically so hit it hard now. Strength training is key. We lose around 8% of muscle mass per decade after 30 so it's very important to lift heavy things to keep that at…

First, she's afraid she's going to lose you if you lose the weight. Second, your discipline shines a spotlight on her current lack of discipline. She is demonstrating a lot of co-dependent behaviors. Best thing is to be direct. You are each responsible for your own behaviors and choices. How you react to one another is…

Frosted Strawberry Poptarts. I decided when I am 75 yrs old I will eat one everyday!

Brace yourself, be strong and leave him. Short term pain now and move on strong otherwise this relationship will be a long, slow, insidious destruction to your soul. You will not find a man who loves you for you while you are still with him. Please do not settle for this.

WOW! Truly fantastic. Really something for you to be proud of. Keep inspiring! :flowerforyou:

It's time to man up. It's only too late when you die.

That's fantastic! Great job :-)

Good for you! That is wonderful! I am sure you inspire many people with your efforts.

It's a balance. It's important to eat enough to support exercise recovery, muscle development, and an efficient metabolism. I don't recommend using the "extra" calories from exercise to eat cake and drink another beer but if you're hungry, low energy after exercise then eat something healthy. It takes time to become…

I use "calisthenics" to log my strength training on MFP. I also use Fitocracy for exercise motivation, education and to track work-outs.

I always gain a few pounds and clothes feel tight a few days before my period. Settles back to normal within a few days. Although it's all normal actually...simply a natural cycle.

Bravo! :drinker:

Good question - what are my goals? It is important that goals are small and attainable. After 30 days or so it becomes a habit. So here goes: 1. No alcohol for the month of January. I might average one drink per day but I'm curious to see if I notice a difference abstaining altogether. Re-evaluate in February. 2. Move my…

I just read that! It is unreal the amount of conflicting and diametrically opposed nutrition and weight loss "research" is out there.

Wow - I am so happy to see so many sensible people posting on this thread! :flowerforyou:

Oh wow all kinds of awesome achievements within the MFP community! So nice to see  As for me: 1. Ran the Army 10-miler on the Homes for Our Troops team and personally raised over $3000 to build an adapted home for a severely wounded OIF/OEF veteran. The longest distance I ever ran prior to this was 6 miles and that…

It is frustrating but I can easily flucate 2-4 pounds when I weigh myself daily. How clothes fit seems to be a better margin but the scale is still important to me. Also, 2 days pre-period I don't even bother because there is always a "weight" gain. Stay the course and a few days from now you'll have lost 3.2 lbs!

ha ha ha great attitude you tub o'****

Add me as well...not sure what it entails but I didn't read the 6 pages of posts

Pretty much at home or outside. Gyms make me cringe with all the poor form I see...I'm a physical therapist so I know. And the guys grunting, puffing and yelling like they're delivering a baby really gets on my nerves.

I sure am! Frustrating!
