  • Thanks, guys! I trained and finished all of my running races without harassing people for help, but for some reason I'm finding the info on triathlons to be significantly more overwhelming, so I really do appreciate the personal advice. :) I'm unfortunately not able to make it to where the race will be (almost two hours…
  • I bought running tights with drawstrings on purpose... my ones that fit at 230 are definitely kind of wrinkly on me now, but with the string drawn in they still work! For tops, I've just bought them tight and now they fit still, just somewhat loose.
  • I don't own one (don't have a particularly large chest and can get by with champion and moving comfort bras), but I've heard amazing things about the Panache sports bras.
  • My school's dietitian openly recommends that people use MFP and has been instrumental in getting a lot of the on-campus dining options' calorie counts in the system. Pretty sure this dietitian doesn't speak for most.
  • I'm well on my way to it, but started with the goal of losing almost exactly 100lbs, if that counts. :) Would love some more active MFP friends, I've lost a lot over the last couple months.
  • My craft beer tolerance going down is one of my saddest side effects from my weight loss. :c Still don't get hangovers, but even one higher alcohol content beers will get me pretty happy, where it took 3-4 in the past.
  • I bought a motivation peacoat (on really good sale) last year... didn't quite fit in it by the end of the season last winter, and unfortunately (/fortunately?) it was too big on me this winter! So to goodwill it goes.
  • One vet I used to work for suggested people get their dogs a vest or harness (or backpack, if you want to go hardcore :P), and use that only when they were running with them, instead of their normal collar/leash. This got the dog used to the idea that this particular going-out-time wasn't a lackadaisical walk time, it was…
  • Didn't say anything to anyone, but most people have noticed by now and now I get a ton of "you didn't tell me you were dieting!!" comments. :)
  • I'm a vet student and I always, always try and encourage student pet owners to get insurance. Yes, it's another monthly expense. But you can budget for it, unlike emergency situations that can happen at the worst time, and it changes the cost of such things from thousands -> hundreds of dollars, which is much more doable.…
  • I think my face looks a little different... :)
  • Always been overweight; or at least, since I can remember in elementary school. I don't have a huge sweet tooth and parents cooked relatively healthily, but I think they just didn't quite have serving sizes down when they were responsible for feeding me. Stayed overweight/obese (but still cooking/eating reasonably…
  • I'm under thirty and haven't seen it - have read the book though.
  • I'm not a vegetarian, but I very rarely eat meat, and never cook it. I would love some more veggie friends for the same reason as you... I love getting meal ideas and stalking other peoples' food, but it's not as fun when I don't eat most of the food they track.
  • 180 days... flat line is time I spent abroad without good internet access. :) Only a couple more months until I'll have a full year chart that looks good!
  • I spent two months abroad (with limited internet access) and completely stopped tracking. Still managed to lose about eight pounds; if you've been doing it a while, you should have a reasonable "feel" for what is an OK amount of food. While your loss may slow and you might not be perfect at hitting your macros, I wouldn't…
  • Just be reasonable: if you're eating under maintenance (and being truthful about calories, and logging/weighing everything!) it will eventually come off. Your body's HAS to pull it from somewhere; it's not magic! So if you just keep on keeping on, you'll eventually find the scale on the downward trend again. :)
  • I have a spibelt (http://www.spibelt.com/) that I love! It's a teeny tiny fanny pack that stretches to the shape of your objects and is almost invisible under clothes... I pack my phone, car key and ID in there and it works fabulously. I was really skeptical about it actually staying put while running when I first bought…
  • If I make it, definitely use the recipe builder. If it's homemade by someone else, I usually just find something in the database that looks similar and overestimate a little bit - a bit too lazy to input food by food, and it's not as if it's something I'll have regularly and really throw off my counts.
  • I've worked at several vet clinics - clients getting another dog of the same breed is super common. We even had a "Bear #4" - all of them being male Bernese mountain dogs and adopted/bought one after another. Although I've got to echo the suggestions to adopt! Mutt dogs are awesome, and you save a life. :)
  • I've never posted on the forums before, but I saw this topic in my sidebar and I have a picture to contribute! I did C25K at the beginning of the year using the Zombies, Run! 5K app and did my first 5K at ~220ish pounds... left the country for two months, got a little off track, but now I'm five weeks into a half marathon…
