1. Always focus on how far you've gone, not how far you've let to go. 2. This is called life, not death. Be Joyful about living. 3. You look effing amazing. The only reason you need to loose more weight is because you want to. Not because you need to. Seriously... Start doing things simply because you enjoy them, not…

My mom can't help but to notice I'm loosing weight. I'm so excited to see the scale go down I tell her every day... sometimes twice a day. It's moments like this when I'm glad I've got the mom that I've got. Good for you for loosing 30lbs Dawn (that's my middle name :) ) If your mom won't say it there are plenty of other…

People keep saying this is wrong. I'm not going to argue about all of it but YOU CAN eat more volume of food if you make a good portion of your meal vegetables. I think the point was by eating less calorie dense foods, you can eat more and move more and loose weight. This is the method I use. I am eating more volume of…

The first time I lose weight I worked fast food into my weight loss. This time around... um. Just no. The thought of McDonald's makes me sick to my stomach. If I'm in a though spot and starting to feel ill from lack of food, I might grab a chicken sandwich from Wendy's but I can eat more food for the same calories by…

I have to take my friend's word that she has pcos and that she is loosing the weight I've been trying to get her to loose for 3 years. But if I am to believe her at her heaviest she was about 220 and she's now below 190. All by counting her calories and very minimal exercise.

I fell off the wagon twice in the past 8 years. I went from being 192.8 lbs to 150.0 lbs gained back up to 205.? lbs. Lost to 182.? gained to 211.9lbs and currently 200. There is no later. I'm currently loosing weight I've already lost twice because I wasn't bothered enough to continue the rules I had established for…

I would be happy with just a 1lbs a week. But I feel great. My energy is incredible and mentally I feel amazing. I guess I will get to…

I too started with 70+ pounds to loose. I've lost 12 and have 60 to go. It's been over 8 years since I've seen 171.5 lbs but I am looking forward to getting there. Keep it up with the hard work. I know we can both get there.

Down to 200lbs! Now I'm just sipping a drink waiting for the weather to warm up a little to go get in the pool. I don't know how I'm going to handle the it not being in the mid 90s again. I'm not complaining but where in the heck did all that heat go in one day?
-
There's nothing wrong with this. I wish everything could be handled at once. Just keep sight that there are people who see you for who you say you are. I did an internal happy dance yesterday. This will still be a non-topic in my house though. I don't think my mom will ever change her mind.

I don't know what you have planned but I'm disabled. Most physical exercise will kick my *kitten*. My only saving grace is a pool. I use a large noodle to help further minimize the impact on my joints and I just move. If you fear what you are about to do, find a pool, get in it and just move until you have a bit more…

I've lost weight both ways, eating everything I love in moderation and completely changing my eating habits. For me it was much easier doing it the second way. Food is fuel not a party. Fun is being able to go on a hike or dancing with friends. Since I eat healthier I feel better and am much happier. I have a sense of…

You can retrain your brain. When you look in the mirror tell yourself out loud that you look good because you lost that weight. Admire yourself and do it whenever you pass a reflective surface. Eventually your mind will fall back to the positive memory you are creating rather than the negative one you nurtured before you…

I take my daily calories and divide them by 4. I usually eat 3 to 4 meals. I eat lean meat and veggies. My energy is great and my digestive tract happy. What is the point of your question? What are you looking to hear? You tell mfp your staring weight, how much you want to loose and how fast you want to loose it and it…

I've lost weight two ways: eating what ever I wanted but counting calories and overhauling what I ate while counting calories. The clear winner is overhauling what you eat. When I finally got over the hurdle of 'i can't exist without having ____' it was really a no brainer. I get more volume of food and better energy…

I'm sorry that you've had to go through this. Definitely report them to staff. But you also need to stand up to these women. You don't have to talk to them but I would do something like go work out closer to them. Let them see you sweat. Let them see that their words are wasted. If you let them bully you then they are…

tdee is total daily energy expenditure. It's how many calories you use in a day BMR basal metabolic rate is how much your body would burn if you sat on a couch all day. You can google calculators that will help you figure out each. I try to eat below my BMR but I'm disabled. Sometimes that workout isn't going to happen.…

If you think you have to starve yourself at 1800 calories then you're not making the correct food choices. If I had to eat 1800 calories a day based on what I am doing now I would have to eat all day. And you've been eating over 2000 calories for the past week. It sounds like to me that you don't want to loose weight. Eat…

I think it is as hard as you make it to be. Loosing weight is what I want. It's what I am going to do. I want it more than I want any kind of food. I can't say that this attitude has made it perfectly easy but this time is not nearly as difficult as it was the last time I tried.
-
That's wonderful!

You are absolutely amazing. 72lbs doesn't seem like such a large number now. When the journey feels like it is too long I'll remember this thread. Thanks for sharing.

For every 10 pounds I loose I have a burger from a restaurant that I like. I am trying to avoid the need to eat out. But when I get close to goal I'll be making new cloths. There are dresses that I made when i was 150lbs that I can't wait to get back into.

You need to find a better way to handle these down moments. Food never fixes a problem. You may feel good while you eat but as soon as you are done you feel even worse because of your 'cure'. Go for a walk, make something, talk to a friend but find a different way to deal.

Decide that you are going to loose weight and that falling off the wagon isn't going to keep you happy for the long term. This is something you are going to do or you aren't. I would suggest not keeping food that doesn't fit your new life plan in the house. That way if you want it you have to go get it. I don't have any…

Just remember the next time you go out with your friends that you don't need to drink to have a good time. The momentary pleasure isn't worth the much longer guilt and struggle you will go through to fix the mistake you made.

loosing weight isn't going to fix a bad relationship.

Weight loss is not linear. I wish it was, but it doesn't work that way. The first thing I want to mention is that you should always stay hydrated. I hate with people talk about 'water weight'. Unless you are given a pill by a doctor to expel water it simply isn't a factor. You're body can maintain it more on one day and…
-
The one thing I want to suggest that has nothing to do with loosing more weight, be proud of the weight you have lost. Remember keeping that off is a life time commitment. The reason it gets harder to lose weight as you get closer to your goal is because the less you weigh the less calories your body needs and the less…
-
BMI isn't a perfect indicator of health. If you are very muscular then I would find out how much bodyfat you should have and try to maintain that. Your weight should be based on how you feel about yourself. I'm over 200 pounds and there are members of my family who weigh less than me who are physically bigger than me.…

I had to talk myself into go to the pool. I was sore from working out yesterday but I decided I would be happy if I just moved for an hour but every time I went to get ready something would happen and I would get so physically exhausted from dealing with it that I had to rest. Finally I decided it just wasn't going to…
