im a lifer on coumadin. i suggest eat a diet that is healthy and nutritious, full of fruits and veggies (minus seaweed), and test INR a few times during the month to stabilize your dosing. you do have to keep the diet constant, though.

Depending on your starting point, it's usually "feel 5 see 10". I'm sure you're feeling better, and clothes fitting better, but when you lose weight its ALL OVER your body, including places like your ankles, wrists, etc. so to see something it has to be all over.

interesting thought on the food intolerance and water consumption. I'll go back over my diary and correlate it to my macros.

First of all, im back here on MFP and happy to be. I started back on track a couple months ago, and part of my health kick was to train for a 10k here in Toronto for end of May. When I first started running I couldn't run more than 2 or 3 minutes at a time in early january. Yesterday, for the first time in my life, i ran…

youve twisted my words, my friend, twisted words, or maybe i didn't elaborate enough. It's strictly that the calories coming from the wheat/flour can be replaced with healthier alternatives that won't spike the insulin as much. no need for patronizing.

i read the book. I'm a geneticist/biochemist (phd), also needing to lose some lbs (kg's here in canada). The book is extreme, HOWEVER, the take away message from the book is simple: control your blood sugar/insulin/glycogen levels, and refined flour is bad, very bad, with a glycemic index greater than that of table sugar…

get back to us on the measurements, the scale may be tricking you. Maybe, just maybe, theres been more gain of muscle and more loss of fat that won't hinder you getting into the dress!!

track your calories, especially carbs/salt/protein

it's called a logarithmic curve (negative exponential) ;) mix up your exercise every day/week/2 weeks, and really push. Ensure your heart rate gets up there to the appropriate bpm for your age/sex/etc. Do that for a couple days and you might bust through. If you're not doing resistance training, do it, but do it BEFORE…

i was a hamburger or two a week guy.. Chowed down on pizza, ate cake, soda (or pop here in canada), fries, fried food. It was an addiction. I used to do a "which hamburger joint in the city has the best one" and buy two or three. I also did a "who has the best veal sandwich", and I'd eat them all in one sitting. No more.…

don't beat yourself up, dear. a little bread and butter is fine. count your calories and you'll realize it's more than okay. go for a walk for 30 minutes, then make your next post on here. this is your life, enjoy and embrace it. Don't deprive yourself, it's about balance and a path to happiness.

I had written a whole response, then i thought the following sentence sums it up. Just remember, the tortoise won.

Hey... My 2 cents.. Please, please, please, go see a therapist/psychiatrist/psychologist that specializes in eating disorders. I did not believe i was an emotional eater until I went through some understanding of what that really means. A spiral can easily occur. It doesn't matter what people say or tell you. You must,…

Wow... 10 kids. I wish you the absolute best. stay strong.

10 kids? That inspires me. I have none. Single. Just out of toxic relationship of 12 years without any kids. Lost myself to almost 250 pounds, now down to 222 pounds. I'm 44. I just wanna get to around 200, then ramp up (or down) to 180. I'm 5'9". Canadian. My goal is about 205 by xmas..

I was just saying to a friend tonight, "you feel 5 pounds, you see 10 pounds"

the MFP app has changed the way I look at food and what goes into my mouth (stomach). It is SOO easy to pack your pie hole with crappy food to make up your daily calories, but much more thought and awareness goes into eating what you need to eat with healthy food. mk

ok... Im in.

my addiction (other than food) is spinning. My polar hrm says I burn about 550 cal in about 45 minutes, and MFP isnt far off from that. I've just started logging diligently so, but I shoot for about 2000 calories per day, total. My 2 pounds per week loss has me at about 1300 calories per day, so I am eating enough, but my…

i make a salsa that can go on everything. onion tomato cilantro jalapeno or habenero peppers salt and pepper completely delish, healthy and spices up any meal. You can actually make a healthy mexican dinner without the cheese. Healthy beef or shrimp tacos are amazingly tasty. Also, pizza using a whole wheat tortilla shell,…

lots of really smart people on here. With the neuronal connections going on here, we should be able to motivate each other to do something even more difficult than our dissertation.
