  • Hi rodeofthedog, My mother had a heart attack in February. My mother smoked for many, many, many years (she started at 5. 5!!!!!). She had stopped about 10 years ago (but remained addicted to nicorette up until about 3 or 4 years ago). She's obese, diabetic, COPD, on oxygen, has heart disease (has had 20+ stents). After…

  • That's sounds like a great idea. I'm a big believer in doing what works best for you. If you wanted to keep up with points, you could buy the calculator and then continue to track. Of course that's extra work that might not be what you want to do. I track with both WW and MFP so if my subscription ended tomorrow I could…
  • Wow! I'm so surprised to hear you say this! Why do you like it so much better?
  • Thank you for telling me what you think about it. I'm enjoying them. I like that it forces me to eat less sugar, lol. I'm prediabetic and I need the extra push.
  • I'm not a long term WW member so I'm not sure if you are interested in my answer. MFP does change my eating patterns with WW. I am more aware of my carbs, sodium, potassium, protein and fat. My nutrition is definitely not optimal but it is better because of MFP. If I were tracking with WW alone, I'd probably eat way too…
  • Glad to meet you pooky73. How do you like smart points compared to points plus?
  • Do you like pork? There are some very lean pork loin, roasts, chops etc. And I think most beans are a great source of protein so I would maximize on that as well. Have you ever heard of authority nutrition? That website is a great source of information on nutrition based on science. It may surprise you what the latest…
  • I joined ww a little over three weeks ago. I'm down about 5lbs so far and have about 65lbs to lose. I have lots of kids and that can be part of the challenge. Some of my children need to gain weight. My life seems to revolve around food.... Always planning the next meal! I think that's part of my problem. I get so tired of…
  • @MyMomTurtle , I use the WW app. It is working great. I agree that it's not as user friendly as MFP but it still works well especially after you get used to it. I still double track with MFP just to keep up with my carbs and calories. I want to see what my diet looks like in terms of fat, carbs, etc.
  • I joined WW April 14th. I've lost 4.8lbs since my first meeting, but I won't believe it's working until I get past my weight block (the weight I can NEVER seem to get under). How is everyone liking smart points? I've been a member of my fitness pal for years and only recently discovered their community. I just discovered…
  • Here is my point by point response to this article. 1. You've obviously never been fat. You are ridiculed in school. You are ridiculed by your family. Main stream media makes fat jokes on a regular basis. People snicker at you when you walk by. YouTube. Is. Brutal. Narcissitic people write flippant articles about FAM while…
  • I am overweight (obese actually at a size 16) and I accept myself just like I am. *I* am not my fat.m much more than my body size, shape, gender, nationality, or skin color. Those things are only outer things....things that have to do with this shell of a body (or the country it resides in) that holds my soul. "I don't…
  • Thank you all! I didn't even realize that there was no RDA for those. I just knew my bad fats were high enough on my blood work, but my good fats are not high enough.
