•
well, i still don't believe it. AMA doesn't know everything. eating over 1200 calories a day when it includes crap can't possibly be better than a lower calorie healthier diet.
Totally agree here. My experience tells me that depriving yourself on nutrients is what's going to put you into starvation mode.…
• Nyastin is a drug perscribed by western, traditional medicine doctors for Candida overgrowth so western medicine does recognize it to a certain degree. It's not been a problem for me to trust holistic medicine for systematic conditions. Western medicine is really great at fixing broken arms or acute conditions and…
• I don't think Candida is a made up disease. You can see tons of people with recurring thrush and if you've ever gone for a colonic and seen colonies of yeast that look like kombucha tea come out of you I think you'd think differently as well (and I went because I was severely constipated -- not becuase I suspected I had a…
• Actually in the holistic world it's widely recognized that Candida overgrowth can make weight loss next to impossible. I've read / heard that the question of Candida overgrowth is not that of calories in vs calories out per se... but more the fact that the body fat is trying to protect you against toxins in this instance…
• What if you started with diet and her? Eating as many fruits and vegetables as she wants during the day? That will get the weight loss happening before the movement kicks in. It'll also give her some energy to do some exercise (if her diet is really bad then she won't have any "juice" for exercise)
• Same measurements as you! And I'm 30! Please add! :)
• eating at 1580 considering your activity level is where i would start. For MFP you can eat back some of your exercise calories. How much weight do you want to lose? I'd also start incorporating some strength training. Even if it's bodyweight squats and pushups it will speed things up a lot.
• it's true to a certain extent. i say this as someone who's going to start their yoga teacher training in 2 weeks :) belly fat is linked to cortisol and stress hormones. if your fat gain / weight gain tends to appear around the low belly area, yoga will help calm your nerves, lower your cortisol and help in that process.…

• Me too! I have the same problem with friends, sushi and drinking ahah. Also my current job encourages a lifestyle of drinking, staying out late, and workaholism which has contributed to me gaining about 15 pounds since I started (though i'll be quitting soon!) Age 30 CW: 135 (24% bodyfat) GW: 123 (19% bodyfat)

• I had a crippling diet coke addiction as well which turned into artificial sweeteners. It is the biggest regret i think i have. If you've read Jillian Michael's "Master Your Metabolism" she also kicked the addiction. Any kind of artificial sweetener will slow your metabolism and make weight loss extremely hard -- as well a…
