If you're still nursing, like it says in your profile, I'd guess that's too little. I mean, personally, I think it's too little anyway, but I won't get into that debate... you can just search "1200" in the forums and get more than enough ranting and raving on the subject. But I'd do some research on what nursing does to…

Goals: 1) Cut snacking at work by 25% per week or more until I'm down to ZERO! By snacking, I mean sweets. Fruits, veggies, nuts are allowed as long as I stay under my calorie goals. 2) Only drink alcohol on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and limit consumption to 2-3 drinks. 3) Workout 5 days per week or more. 4) Complete my…

Look at what you've got in your pantry & freezer already and figure out what makes the most sense. Frozen veggies can bulk up the pasta and rice that you might already have. Beans and rice are cheap and go well with meat if you have some in the freezer. Eggs are cheap and you can scramble any kind of frozen or canned…

This is pretty close to what I do. There's no way I'd make it if it were set to 61 all the time. But apartments are different than houses... you get everyone else's heat too.

One thing at a time... start with low cal and you might start to want to eat healthier too... at which point you might be more motivated to find veggies that you like, and experiment with ways to cook them that make them taste good to you. Stranger things have happened ;-) It's worth a shot, for sure.

Of course, we all notice the folks around us to some extent, but that happens on the street, in a coffee shop, and just about anywhere. Don't say anything to your friends. It doesn't matter what other people think, some people will judge and some won't, just like everywhere else in life. For me, there are lots of times I…

Nice point. I get the OP's post, though, and as for subsidizing my membership fees, I prefer the people who pay then never come to those who come and take up machine and floor space. But as long as they stay out of my way, so be it. I will make the point that there seem to be some guys who do this too. They are a bit worse…

Look, you already know you were down at your intermediate weigh in. I don't limit myself to logging on one day per week. Sometimes it's daily, sometimes not, but I do find it helpful to weigh myself every day. That way, I KNOW there are ups and downs. I face them, "write" them down, celebrate the good days and acknowledge…

Well, yeah... but the foam roller is cheaper and you can do it by yourself ;-)

Depends on the reason for his snoring. If he didn't snore when he was thin, it will probably go away. But if there is a different reason, it probably won't and he'd need to see a doctor to diagnose and treat it.

Congrats on making a decision, I hope it is a happy one. Having been through the engagement process more than once, I'd still urge you to keep your mind open and give it some time to make sure that he's the one that's right for you. If you don't have friends or family to talk to about it, I'd suggest finding a counselor…

And just when I decided I was fine without a boyfriend...

Holy crap, the Mayo clinic really has that on their website? I love it!

An apple or other high-fiber snack with a glass of water 15 minutes before your meal is supposed to work too. Same concept either way, but apples are yummier, IMO :-)

^^^^^ This! Sounds like you're not getting enough calories, so your body is holding on to everything.

Of course! They have everything on Amazon :-) Why didn't I think of that?

Where do you get a chip rack? I've never seen one!

Awesome progress! Way to go :-)

I didn't see anywhere that you responded to whether you're getting medical help or counseling? At 18, I realize that you may not have a lot of financial resources to spend on these things, but if your parents are supportive and can help, it could be worth it. I went through a round of "talking therapy" a few years ago and…

Take them trick-or-treating, but let them have one bag each, to keep in THEIR rooms, then give the rest away... take it to work, or if you don't work, send it to work with a SO, friend, etc. Or, just throw it away. But don't punish your kids b/c you have no self control... teach them how to gain some!

i love my iPhone. Sprint = makes the bill better and is the only service that actually works at my house!

Wow... that's not the way I thought that post was going to go! I have dogs... I try not to feed them people food, because it makes them total beggars!
-
Nice job! It's great to hear from someone who found a "different", but reasonable and sustainable, way!
-
Awesome job! It's totally inspiring to see a success story from someone that "didn't have that much to lose"... because there are a lot of us in the same boat. A 20-25 lb goal might not seem like a lot to some, but to me it's huge! Great job :-)

WOW... you look amazing!
-
Wow!! You look great!

Wow... I'd say burn their house down. But only in your mind, of course. Stooping that low would be beyond evil... but that doesn't mean they don't deserve whatever they get... just that you are better than them. Maybe you should suggest they run with you and see if they can outlast you ;-) Bet they can't.

Hey... it worked!! Things are looking up! Thanks for all the good vibes, everyone. Today was a very productive day, lots of unexpected good things happened, and I was only a little bit sad. Here's hoping my luck holds for tomorrow!

The first one, I donated to a girl at a friend's church. The second one was hand-made by my aunt, so I preserved it and kept it (even though I didn't end up keeping the husband). I'm not planning to have a 3rd one ;-p
