Fill up on Vegis, but be sure that if you put a sauce, ranch dressing, butter or other stuff on it, that you don't overdo those things. Raw, plain, you can eat what you want. Root vegetables, like potatoes will have more calories than green ones. Green ones, you could probably never eat enough to count. For a good diet,…

And yes, as someone said above, you can eat as much vegetable as you want. It is the sauces or butters that you need to limit if you eat them with vegetables.

First, look at labels and see what a serving size is on all the things that you are eating. This will help a lot. Get baby carrots, and cut up broccoli and celery for kids to eat for snacks. (I do let my kids eat these right before dinner and count it as part of their vegi servings!) These can work for snacks for you too.…

1/4 cup of ground flaxseed, mixed with 2 tbs sweetened shredded coconut and 1/2 cup milk, heated. Most days I have either two small sausage links, or a soft boiled duck egg. Tea every day with on teaspoon sugar, times 2 cups

I reached my highest pregnancy weight and needed new clothes even though my old ones still have lots of wear. I am very frugal and I like to wear my clothes out. I found Primal Blueprint and the not eating grains made a lot of sense to me based on how I lost my baby weight (before I gained it back.) \

[quot For some reason, sometimes i'm just not very hungry at all, despite my lifting and cardio. And I hate feeling bloated and heavy so I don't like to stuff myself to make up for the calories. [/quote] Then don't eat more. I am 5'4" and in high school I ran distance track and played field hockey. I just put in my typical…

Up your fat and protein, like the other person said. Also, take a multivitamin. (I used my kid's chewable ones because they were what I had.) I understand the science behind what you are doing - it is a good thing!

I removed grains this summer to help with my weight. What I found was that the pain in my hip (had it off and on for 7 years, including at a lower weight) had disappeared. So has the "Bible Bump" on my wrist. Both went away before I lost any amount of weight. I do feel that wheat can cause inflammation, or make it worse.…

Thanks everyone. I will get my thyroid checked. I do live in a warm place - in the summer, where over 100 is not uncommon. Unfortunately, I have to be where my husband has work (because I do love him!) I will also try the jumping jacks. I just started today doing a lap around the block when I feel cold, which helped some,…

5'4", I would be happy at 130 to 125. In high school running track I was 118-120. When I started this summer (before getting on here) my weight was almost 160. When I started here, it was 150. I am currently about 142. 135 by New Years would be great!

If you don't eat the grain carbs with the meat, it won't clog your arteries.

Oh, and be aware that you will get MANY conflicting suggestions. Do some research and decide for yourself after you get some ideas of what may work.

A fair number of people have success with a grain free diet. If you want to see the science behind it, read "Wheat Belly." Yes, that means cutting out traditional bread, pasta and such. If you want recipes that will work search "paleo" and whatever you have available to cook with and you can find some pretty good stuff. We…

I cook a large roast on Sunday, then use it to make meals the rest of the week. I use dinner left overs for lunches - sometimes freezing them in containers for later. My husband takes leftovers for lunch every day, and has for years. From the same turkey/beef roast/pork shoulder I will make a variety of curries, taco…

Are you drinking coffee? Last year I had to cut out the coffee because it was making me feel sick to my stomach and causing lots of runs. It was probably the horribly cheap coffee that I get, but it is all that I can afford right now. My husband drinks it regularly, but I can only have a cup now and then. Now I drink tea…

It depends on what style of diet you are doing. I am doing Primal/Paleo, and really look at carbs staying low, but I could care less about fat, except trans fat (which as I have been making all my food has been at 0 every day.) I try to make the bulk of my food vegetables, followed by meat and dairy. Fat makes me full, so…

I like to use it for tough meat. Shin from elk or venison comes out being wonderful. I used to use it for beans, but I found a crockpot does a better job (and won't burn them.)

Grains, except for small amounts of forbidden rice. (Like maybe once or twice a week at most.) Mostly this means wheat, which I have found paleo alternatives for things that I occasionally HAVE to have. This has really cut down on my cravings, stabilized my blood sugar, and gotten rid of the achy hip and Bible bump I had…

Yup, you are right. Ask a question here and you will get a million answers, none the same. Here is what is working for me: Primal Blueprint (get the book from the library if you want to read it.) It is a combination of what to eat, exercise suggestions, sleep recommendations, getting enough sun and lowering stress levels.…

All the family is on the east coast. We used to do big family get together, everyone bring a dish or two to pass, the hostess did the turkey and stuffing. The women cooked, the men cleaned up and washed the dishes. The guys watched football, the kids played outside, and the women chatted. I really miss it. When my husband…

I just found this morning that I can fit "almost comfortably" in pants that I haven't worn in 3 years. I would like to keep fitting in them. My plan is to have some of everything, but small portions. I will probably enter them in my diary before I eat to try to keep from being way out of line. This is possible as it is…

Not a brand. It is just her way of grouping all prepared foods that are free of a certain thing, like gluten or dairy. Search for Paleo foods. When you type them into your search engine, type in stuff like "Paleo dairy free chicken recipe". I have found that coconut milk can sometimes be interchanged with sour cream as…

Because when I eat bread or cake, it isn't very filling. But it is a fair to large number of calories. If I were to eat the same number of calories in vegetables, I feel full. When I don't eat grains I also don't have cravings for more grain products which makes it easier to stay on target. May not be the same for…

I found that grain containing items have the most calories and are the least filling for me. I try hard to stay away from them on principal. Per the photo of 100 calories, I would rather have just a couple of those celery sticks and be full than the slice of bread, granola or rice and still be hungry. I ate a pickle…

Hugs to you! I don't have much to say other than maybe sitting him down and having a good heart to heart talk so that he knows it isn't motivating. Guys do operate in a different manner with social stuff than women, so maybe he just doesn't realize what he is doing. Tell him what IS motivating to you...perhaps him noticing…

Weekends are hard. It is much easier to stick to schedule during the week. I found for me, that along with cutting sugar, (I only have it in my tea in the morning) that cutting out grains helped me overcome the cravings the most. It took a few days for my body to adjust to not eating the grains, but after that I have felt…

It all depends on the eating model that you are using. If, for instance, you are doing Weight Watchers, follow their goals. I am doing a Primal/Paleo style. I try to keep my carbs way lower than recommended here, I try to keep total calories in line, and don't worry about protein or fat, except trans fats (which so far has…

You look wonderful now, I am sure you will be absolutely stunning when you get to your weight. I have to agree with others - they want to look like you but don't know how. Give them the "the doctor said" bit, if you think it will help. Otherwise don't worry about them. You have nothing positive to gain by listening to…

HI! No, you are not invisible...I just don't have an answer for you. I hope that someone else will be able to help you.
