  • Yes Stu it is. My frame is too small to hold two water bottles (I'm a little short) so I have to use the seat post one in the southern heat. It was given to me so I'm not quite sure where it was bought but it's easy to use and I can use it while riding. It actually holds two bottles.
  • 1600-2000 calories here!!
  • Here is my girl!! Her name is Fiona!! 2009 Trek2.0 WSD Lime Green & White
  • I agree!! Give me pork bacon any day than processed turkey bacon. Beside where is the bacon on a turkey???
  • You could boil it and most of the salt will come out in the water and then pan fry it or however you normally cook it.
  • I would think a second workout would be fine since you are only doing 20mins and burning only 150 calories per workout. I've never done the 30DS so I don't know if it's all cardio or more light lifting but if you have another 45 mins in your day I would definately get in another workout. Maybe one day you could focus on…
  • I would check around at your LBS because the only thing about buying online is you will have to assemble the bike once you get it. If you are knowledgable about putting together the componets and adjusting the gears and what not it may not be problem for you but if you have to pay for assembly and fitting after purchase…

  • Chicken, turkey, fish, lentils, peanut butter, beans, yogurt I got 137 gr yesterday and I'll be at 96 after my lunch and I still have to eat supper. I get all mine from my food but if it's a struggle then down a protein shake.
  • Yes. Mine started out in the mid 70's and now it's in the low 50's.
  • If you are doing what I call traditional wieght lifting it probably won't be accurate but if you are doing super sets or circuits where you are moving quickly betwenn each exercise and not resting between sets you should get an accurate reading since your HR will stay elevated.
  • Agreed that a HRM is NOT intended to be worn all day or during normal activities or yes you will get false readings. They are made to ONLY be worn when you are engaging in exercise or an activity that is intended to increase your HR. If you want something to record your total calories during the day you should look into a…
  • Hi J and congrats on weight loss so far! You are in the right place with awesome people who will help you every step of the way. Just take one day at a time and will reach those goals. Good luck to you!!
  • My first 50 miler was over 3000 calories but I had been riding less than a year. Now I burn anywhere from 1200-1600 calories. As we said it depends on wind, if I'm riding alone or drafting part of the ride etc. As I rode more and I got fitter my burn was not as high. It's just like anything else that your body adapts too…
  • Yes I am a road cyclist no trails and yes there are some pretty challenging hills. I've been riding for about 2 years and clocked over 3000 miles last year. You are correct that all those things come into play when riding because I can ride 50 on my southern route and burn xxx amout of calories and go 50 miles on my…
  • Yes you can use that but if you are going by MFP's calories I would only eat back about half of those because MFP tends to be VERY generous on the calories. I'm also a cyclist but I use a Polar 200 to track my speed, milage, calorie burn etc. and MFP's numbers for calories are always higher than what my HRM says. Great job…
  • I can't see your diary but if your calories are set at 1200 that may be too low for you. If it is set to 1200 try eating 300-500 calories more next week and see if that helps.
  • OATMEAL BARS 2 cups old fashion oats 1 snack size box of raisins 1 cup Kashi Go Lean cereal 1 square Ghiradelli Intense dark Midnight chocolate chopped 1 1/2 cups sweetened almond milk cinnamon Mix together in a bowl. Put into a 6x6 pan and bake at 350 for 25-30 mins. Makes 9 bars 126 calories each I ususally put these in…
  • Yes HRM are used to record your activity when your HR is elevated i.e. exercise but they are not for recording daily activity. A FitBit or Body Bugg records daily activity but not really good for recording exercise.
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY Niner!!
  • I think a FitBit or Body Bugg is what you're looking for!
  • Yea I'm pretty slow too but I'm also new to running. My happy spot on the tredmil is 4.5-5. Don't know if I will ever be any faster but I do like saying "I'm going running"! It just sounds good! LOL Maybe once I shed some poundage I'll be a little faster on my feet!
  • I've seen a lot of people talk about the book The New Rules of Lifting. There is one for men and women. Also check out the bodybuilding group. There are a lot of people there who know what they are talking about from years of training and experience. Glad to see you are not shying away from lifiting. I love it and I think…
  • There is a "clean eating group" on here you can join and get lots of helpful info!
  • I get any where from 95-120 grams a day!! Your body needs it to build lean muscle so it's good for ya!!
  • It's those feel good hormones called endorphens!! They are very addictive but a good addiction!!
  • I pretty much agree that he has to decide when he's ready to get healthy. I tried with my husband and I finally just gave up and left him alone. After he watched me change and really get serious this past year he has now started to workout. If all else fails just offer him sex for every workout he does! He's a man sex…
  • You look amazing girl!!!
  • I don't log anything that is not a TRUE workout. I did house work before and none of it helped me to lose weight.
  • I gained 15 yes 15 pounds!!! Damn it!! I'm down 5 now so hopefully after next week I'll be back on track.
