If it has 0 calories, then it will not cause weight gain, it has 0 calories. People say that diet soda causes weight gain because it supposedly makes you crave things that don't have 0 calories...

Get naked and stare at your body in the mirror for 5 minutes. Do you want to look like that anymore? Or get a buddy if you're not into that kind of thing.

Loose the weight first and then start lifting heavy. You can't loose weight and gain muscle at the same time, these must be done independently from one another. Once you hit your goal weight, you have to up your protein intake, cut out cardio, and lift heavy weights.
