I can understand the cynicism and feeling targeted, but try to lighten up. I haven't once been approached by someone on MFP asking to be my coach, and I can always say no thanks. The people who are coaches are by and large people who have gone through hard weight loss struggles and truly do know how to get the best out of…

If I had dealt with an incurable brain disorder growing up, it would mean the world to me to see someone who had gone through the same things as me and went on to live their dream, aided by the skills they learned in PT and OT. There are plenty of OTs out there for kids with brain injuries and I'm sure all of them really…

I'm in love with you.

I thought the same thing! I don't even know this person and I welled up with pride seeing his transformation and reading about all the inner transformation as well!

Thank you! I feel hawt and loved! And you are adorable! ETA: I think you might have been referencing the hilarious person who wittily managed to make my Johnny Cupcakes logo fit with this thread, and I realize now you were probably not referring to me, but my comment still stands! :)

So sorry to hear you and Lauren have lost touch again...I really connect with that aspect of your story. There's a prayer that the teacher says at the end of a yoga class I sometimes attend that I thought of reading your story: "May the long-time sun shine upon you all love surround you and the pure light within you shine…

Sorry! Not really a fair profile pic to have when replying to a thread like this. You're a hottie though :)

The happy trail, the nipples, the arm muscles, the bod that I would totally jump.

In addition to taking the Topamax, I suggest you read "Brain Over Binge". It's a book by Kathryn Hansen, a former bulimic, who used Topamax to get her started with not bingeing anymore. I read the book and using what I learned in it was able to stop a problem with binge eating (yes, I've been diagnosed with BED) that I've…

I don't, but I think that's because of the way the pics are taken. Subtle differences are going to be hard to see if you're wearing baggy clothes and not positioned where your anatomy is visible. You said you aren't measuring because you're lazy, and I think that's a mistake. Measuring is certainly not harder than lifting,…

I don't think it's insane. For some people it can be really motivating to know you have something to get done in a certain amount of time. I have a deadline of losing 12% of my body weight each quarter (i.e. every three months). I will need to be that focused if I want to reach my goal of losing 100 lbs this year. Good…

No way! Excellent post, and definitely not TL;DR!

What amazes is me is how skinny you looked in your "before"! I would have never guessed you had weight to lose. You look incredible!

Sadly, I have to admit that more than likely the BCS championship will really be a bloodbath watching Alabama skool Notre Dame. I'm a diehard Gator, but as my dad says, if Notre Dame was playing Satan, I'd root for Satan. In the BCS a Gator rooting for 'Bama is sorta the same thing.

Lololol! I can only hope the pictures didn't show too much "progress" if you know what I mean. Must have been interesting for the recipient!

Tender78, not sure what your starting weight is but you look like you started similar to my weight, 254 lbs. I've known many very large women who didn't see a different in how they looked until about a 50 lb weight loss, and clothes in the plus size range take about 20-30 lbs of weight loss before you go down a size in my…
