as the mother of a child with Aspergers, based on what you just wrote, I would advise you re-think your adoption plans. Being a parent is full of emotional ups and downs regardless of the child. And if you think only children with obvious physical deformities are treated cruelly by society you need to expand your thinking

I think you are assuming that the only resource people have or will use is the forums promoting lifting as a positive addition to a fitness program. I think you are selling people short. These forums just encourage, plant the seed. Along with the advice comes any number of programs that could be followed, all of which have…

Not understanding the amount of effort you must exert to actually burn a decent amount of calories. People grossly overestimate their calorie burns...you don't burn calories just because you were physically IN the gym for an hour..you need to be hauling a** the whole time. That said, do it for health, mental well being, a…

I'm not a big cook so every Sunday I make a bunch of boiled eggs, package veggies with dip - hummus, spinach, yogurt..i make up oatmeal soaked in greek yogurt and pair it with whatever berries I have. I always pre-portion servings of oatmeal in microwaveable containers, I mix a can of tuna with avocado to eat on…

Your weight is like a pendulum - it will always swing back and forth. Weigh once a month.

Anywhere on the east coast because they are real there, TO because I was born and raised there and it's got great food if you get off the beaten path, Winnipeg for the music scene, Edmonton because I also lived there, Calgary because it's pretty, anywhere in BC because of the scenery and Barrie because I live there now...

This is ridiculous. I think it's supposed to be....otherwise it makes no sense. I was born and raised in Toronto and it is not full of skinny/thin people. If the OP is serious then I think she has a very myopic view of her surroundings. Bottom line - who cares what other people look like. Be healthy and live your life.

Sorry about that - it happens a lot and it's wrong. and I know there are 3 sides to every story but that system is broken and needs to be fixed.

You need to see a therapist and get counselling. You do not have a realistic view of your body. Seek help so that you can live your life to the fullest regardless of what you weigh or look like.

I have maintained for 7 years while having an unbalanced calorie distribution. I don't think what I do is considered true binging but I definitely have moments (days) where I have no boundaries. I believe maintaining has worked for me because no matter how disordered my eating is, I have always maintained a constant work…

51, 5'6, 139lbs - maintaining for about 7 years - give or take 5/10 lbs. the difference in weights made no difference in clothing...it was just changing body shape and work outs. I have mfp set to 1500 cals a day but that's just a number I plucked out of my mind based on TDEE calculations. I probably average around…

Herbalife has been around since 1980....

The statement I hear most from people who subscribe to herbalife is "I'm doing herbalife - again" in reference to weight loss. I laugh every time I hear that.

There was nothing unhealthy in that diet, she was meeting her macro goals and meal timing means nothing. And judging by her successful weight loss to date I'd say she's doing just fine.

my diabetic neighbour lost her sight and both legs...she was morbidly obese and I bet she ate the donuts.... don't eat the donuts for your health and welfare...it isn't even about weight loss
-
IF, or 5:2 or 16:8 or whatever version you follow isn't a magic solution for weight loss - you still need to be cognizant of how many calories you require to lose and how many are in the foods you are eating. sorry - just had to get that out there....carry on

I didn't read all the replies but just felt compelled to chime in...I'm 51 and have no problem losing weight or maintaining.
