I second (or maybe third) the almond milk. Also unsweetened soy can be quite creamy but a little more calories. I'm gradually using less and less in my coffee and hoping to be able to go without. I already cut out the sugar (can't stand artificial sweeteners).

It does ring true with other readings I've done on how the body uses energy. It sounds like a harder workout though (so it shouldn't be surprising that this order should work better). I don't think I can do weights for that long, but I will definitely try it this way for a bit to find out for myself! Thanks for the post!

Mine too mommared53! My other one walks forward while he pukes. It's pretty easy to tell which cat to blame by the shape and number of spots...

Most of the time it's 2oz dry (more consistent that way). Almost all pasta is about 100 cal per oz, so you can check that way. Rice is annoying like that too, but most of the calories listed for rice is cooked by volume. So does that mean 1 cup packed? or fluffy? I still don't know. I wish they'd just list it all by dry…

She can't be in starvation mode. Yes she is below 1200 about half the days (although still at least around 1000), but the other days have plenty of calories. Plus, plenty of sugar means your body isn't likely to be eating your muscle to feed your brain which is effectively what starvation mode is. I think the problem has…

I've reached my original goal, but I had re-evaluated two months ago and pushed my goal 2 lbs lower for a safety cushion (so I can gain a little if I have an awful week). I have 1.5 lbs left to go. I'm not completely happy with my body yet either. I feel like I still have remnants of my love handles and my thighs are still…

1. My clothes are loose too! 2. Totally need a belt, might even need to punch another hole in it. 3. I have cheek bones! I also have a chin! 4. I can have conversation going up the stairs! 5. Rawr, just rawr. 6. My rings fit comfortably. 7. I understand my body a LOT better.

Your projected total calories (525 + 300 + 250 - 320 = 755) is way under a net goal of at least 1200. This will not help you lose weight in the long run, unless you are really short (under 5ft) or really overweight/obese. So have your treat, and then eat a few hundred more healthy calories.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starvation_mode Nice short read on starvation mode, but I'm a chemist and chemical names/processes make me smile. Here's the important bits in regular English. 0-12hrs after you stop eating, your body finishes off the glucose store from food you recently ate 2-3 days into fasting, you body…

I know how you feel. When I was sick, I knew I needed to rest to get better, but I was so antsy not exercising. You can do some light stretching for an extended period of time (10-20 mins) and MFP has stretching in the database. On a side note, the decision to exercise or not while sick is something you make while…

MFP also has a BMR calculator (Tools tab, BMR on the menu bar) which tells you how many calories you burn just by being alive (i.e. if you did nothing but maintain your body functions). At your height and assuming 30 yr old female and 135 lbs, it's 1220Cal/day so I'm guessing yours is going to be lower. Mine was about 1450…

That made me laugh. Really? She's upset? Way to humble brag! I love that my clothes don't fit right anymore. I do have cute clothes that are nice in my old size, but I'm putting them away or making adjustments to them. I was complaining (my own humble brag ) that my pants aren't flattering my butt b/c they don't fit…

I agree with many others so far. I know I eat food with more sodium, fat and sugar on my cheat days and it will take a while for your system to flush them out. So chug that water! If you weigh yourself first thing in the morning and then in the evening, you'll be shocked how much weight you "gained." It's not real,…

Probably an ok midday meal (which is the one I usually aim to have the most cals). I get something similar at Pita Pit and they can be 500-800 Cal depending on what you put in them. I usually just ask for everything on the fillings (I'm not a picky eater). Most of the calories are coming from the cheese, meat, pineapples,…

It starts "If someone handed you a pill and said "take two of these and you'll lose all the weight you want to," would you be tempted? If you answered anything other than yes, I don't believe you. " Yet after almost 5 months on MFP, I can honestly say no. Considering how much hard work it has taken to lose weight so far,…

I think that's a general rule of thumb for most things and for a good balanced diet regardless of whether there are reported risks. "Tuna is great, but don't eat it everyday every meal." You can substitute the word tuna with most any other food and it would still be true and good advice. Variety is the spice of life; it'd…

Cheers sister! My comeback to "Guys don't like really thin girls" is "Well sure, but I'm not trying to be thin, I'm trying to be healthy and happy. You do want me to be healthy and happy, RIGHT?!?! ?!? "

Ooh I love crunchies! I have a cadbury cream egg that I'm keeping around for a day when I deserve it. It helps me try to be good, and it helps me resist buying treats (b/c I already have an excellent one at home!). GL on moderating the chocolate! It helps me if I chop it up into little pieces (like you would for baking)…

Hmm this puts a new twist in my plans to shorten my workout time now that I'm close to my goal. I was thinking that would take care of toning and continuing to burn fat. Some questions: Does it make a diff if you do less than 20 minutes of intense exercise so that your heart rate is way up? What about exercising first…

I would suggest getting a bunch of MFP friends (I just sent you an invite) and setting your diary to public (or at least open to friends). That way you have people to cheer you on and also to give you feedback on how you are doing. When you get into it, I find it really interesting to see what other people are doing/eating…

I'm midway through level 1, and I really like it. It kicked my butt and I was so sore at the start so I went back to my regular gym routine. And guess what, my gym routine felt easier than usual!! So I've been mixing it up with the 30DS and my usual workouts. I like that I can do it quickly at home (did it once first thing…

Exactly my thoughts and totally worth quoting again. Another thing you might do is spend some time in the sauna regularly. The heat and sweating helps wake up your skin and purge toxins. Immediately after, I always wash my face with cool water and wipe off my limbs with a cool damp towel; my pores feel cleared and the skin…

LOVE IT! Mine is from the anime Excel Saga. In the story, Menchi is main character's dog and she keeps Menchi as "emergency food." Menchi is also a Japanese snack which is effectively deep fried, breaded ground beef ball. Hmmm... not really conducive to weight loss or healthy lifestyle huh.

Sounds delicious, does it work and how does it work?

I just did level 1 today, looks right to me. What are you going to do about level 2 & 3 though? I"m sry windows is being dumb =( Beginning of the level 1 is actually posted on youtube if that at least helps you get in to the swing of things. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WSPkxYX2Xc

The "rabbit food" is pretty good with yogurt actually... toss in some berries and you got a parfait. I don't usually have my cereal with milk but I can imagine the F1 bran tasting pretty awful and soggy in milk. It's also a nice substitute for crisp rice cereal in rice crispy treats.

My period has never been terribly regular so I can never tell when it's late. However, I did notice that after I started working out and watching my calories that I can get more tired during TOM. I started to make sure I had plenty of iron the week before TOM and that seemed to help a lot. Of course, I was doing that via…

HAHHAA, I haven't decided yet! I only know I should... Thank you for the support though, that makes me feel more motivated to commit to a trip to the gym.

I'm terrible at keeping myself disciplined. That said, it's super hard to just quit the bad stuff. On the other hand, I can be fooled into being disciplined if I gradually have less of the bad stuff. For example, I used to have coffee in the form of starbucks mocha fraps, whipped cream and everything :noway:. Over the…
