  • As long as you aren't too tired for your lifts, sounds like it's working for you!
  • Great job!! I remember feeling proud each week in my C25K program. I hope you feel that every week.
  • Has anyone noticed a recipe difference in the Tagalongs this year? They have been my favorite since I was a kid, but this year they are way thinner, there is less peanut butter, and they now call the chocolate "a chocolatey coating." Anyway I'm sad. Will stick to the s'mores variety from now on, or Thin Mints.
  • I agree that it depends on what is more important to you. My race training programs recommend to do lifting after running so that your legs aren't too tired for the run. But if you are lifting heavy, running too far beforehand will tire you out for your squats and deadlifts.
  • I swim for triathlon training, although I haven't swam for a few months because I dyed my hair purple and didn't want to mess up the dye in the chlorine. :) Will be back in the pool in a few weeks, feel free to add.
  • Hey Rachel, I'm active on here and have an open diary for my friends. Feel free to add me (and other active, open diary people from this thread are welcome to do so, too!) Height: 5'10'' Starting weight: 200 Current weight: 159 Goal weight: 150-155 ETA: I'm a runner and my fitness goals are to run faster races this year,…
  • I would add that unless you use a heart rate monitor, the estimates of calories burned on MFP or on exercise machines are typically high. Eat back some of your exercise calories, but a lot of people on here avoid eating back all of them to avoid accidentally over-eating.
  • Have you had your foot strike evaluated at a running store? You might be over-supinating and causing pressure on that part of the rubber, causing it to crack and fall off even though you aren't striking it. If you want to know if you are striking without realizing it, you could put some chalk on one shoe and see if it…
  • I haven't been on here in a while, so I'll just post my weight today at 163.8 lb. and check in next week with the difference. :) Goal is 155.
  • Reese's anything, especially the seasonal ones (eggs, hearts, trees, pumpkins)
  • I second dried beans, they are so amazingly cheap, and with rice form a complete protein at a low cost.
  • Not treated differently in general (my weight loss was not that significant), although I get comments from some friends and family that my husband and I are now too thin. A friend said we look like we just came out of Auschwitz. I'm on the middle-upper end of normal BMI, definitely no cause for alarm. I don't know why…
  • As someone who has been trying to lose those last five pounds for like two years, I hear you. :) Keep at it, sounds like you are doing great so far.
  • Plenty of people grind their teeth and need night guards. I have had one since 2004 (and it wasn't related to exercise, I can tell you.) I recommend getting a nice one from the dentist; will be like $300-$400, which sounds like a lot, but they last for like 10 years. Also, I recommend getting one for your bottom jaw, not…
  • I have literally never forgotten to eat a meal in my whole life. My husband will sometimes forget to eat lunch and I don't get it.
  • High five!!! I also love your clothing style and love for sparkly things.
  • Wow! Good for you!! Keep posting as you continue down your path.
  • I told myself if I can get below 160 by end of January, I would buy myself some yarn I want! (A kit on Etsy for the Find Your Fade shawl, in case anyone else is a knitter.)
  • I actually thought that scene was too short and that Rhaegar was not done well; he was too much like Viserys, who was a little rat-man compared with noble Rhaegar.
  • I agree. I don't know why it is so hard to say on this forum that it's easier to over-eat calories when there is added sugar in foods, but apparently it is a really controversial topic.
  • This is pretty much why I started eating meat again. I had trouble meeting protein without blowing out my carbs in the process. I also am a long-distance runner and participate in triathlons, so meeting protein became even more important for me. Pescetarianism can be a good compromise for a lot of people. I pay more for…
  • I love Harney & Sons. I have their green, white, lemon verbena, peppermint, rooibos, and chamomile.
  • You don't have to. But if you want to try it, lifting weights makes running a lot easier. I hated running years ago, then I did some strength training for six months (Stronglifts 5x5), and running was MUCH easier. That said, do the exercise you enjoy!
  • OK, I'm going to be honest, I've been in a terrible plateau so I haven't posted to this group for a while. But I've gotten better about logging (and half marathon training is over), so I am pleased to report: LW: I don't remember, but 162-163? TW: 160.8! Almost below 160, which has been a goal for a while. I'm 5'10'' and…
  • Someone asked what to do on off days - strength training! Lifting heavy weights made running much easier for me when I was starting running for the second time. Squats and lunges are great for runners specifically.
  • I still remember the day when my husband looked up the calories on his beloved McGriddle. It's almost a Big Mac... Guess he shouldn't have been shocked.
  • @cee134 - your post is everything I've wanted to say in tons of sugar-related posts and have not had the eloquence.

  • I get annoyed by that, too. I try to steer toward natural foods that have sugar AND fiber, and MFP does not distinguish that from a pure sugar candy bar or soda. I wouldn't worry about it.
