That was one of my best days!! Congrats. You're onto the next step.

I find I crave snacks more in the evening. I grab a tablespoon or so of dehydrated edamame. They're crunchy and a little salty. My dietitian suggested this so I think it's good. And they're packed with protein.

Stalling out is the pits! I finally had to remind myself that this is a journey. Sometimes we pause... then we pick up again. I also had to stop weighing myself all the time. I now weigh myself every Monday at 7:00am. Then I don't see the little gains and losses that set my emotional wheel going.

I had the sleeve done 5/5/14. I've run into a few people who think I've taken the easy way out, too. I used to be one of those people. So I guess for me the best thing I can offer is to educate people. If you're talking with a friend or family member take the time to educate them on what you've been through and what you're…

I had a lot of constipation. The nutritionist told me that with the sever reduction in calories my body was holding on to everything. Great! That's one thing I didn't need to hold on to. But everything is moving well now.

Giving up the things we love is hard but it is SOO worth it. My biggest sacrifice was giving up Dr Pepper. I miss it still - but if I have to make a choice between Dr Pepper and the 47 lbs I've lost... I stopped drinking Dr Pepper 2 months before my surgery just to make sure I could! It was hard but I'm glad I did. Going…

For me I became aware of the differences in the difficulty levels in my life at about 30#. I am at -47 now and I see the changes regularly. Playing on the floor with my granddaughter is much easier and getting up doesn't require a piece of furniture. I am really excited for you to move to the next step in your journey.…

WOW! I'm with everyone else here. You're timeframe is so short. I hope that works out for you! I had the sleeve done May 5 here in Albuquerque, NM. With my insurance company's requirements it took about 4 months from making the decision to moving forward with the surgery. I have always had nausea after surgery so…

AMEN! And congrats on your weight loss.

Thanks for posting this article. What a great read!

I'm sorry you've gone through this with your 'friend.' While I have not had such a direct assault from my friends I have had a couple share their concerns and even their points of view. One in particular said much the same as your friend (only much nicer). I listened and heard everything she had to say. Then I took the…

I live in Albuquerque, NM - Yes, that is in the United States. I am surprised to see the majority of the people who stated where they're from are from the northeast part of the country. That's great!

Just remember that a regular intense workout can burn a lot of calories and if you're not taking in a lot of calories you may slow down the weight loss. Take care of your body and allow it to adjust to the wonderful changes you're making. You're doing great! :flowerforyou:

I 2nd that! I was so excited about finishing my shake stage that I actually celebrated with a fist bump in front of a group of friends. I hope your journey is going well.

I just read your post and wanted to encourage you. How is it going now? Are you adjusting to your new life? How's your journey going?
-
Nevermind. I figured it out. Thanks!

Heather, I'm pretty new to this blogging and community stuff. How do you 'friend' someone?

Fantastic! Bariatric surgery is no small decision and one you'll have to live with the rest of your life. But WOW!, when you finally make that decision and start on the journey everything begins to slowly change! I had the sleeve done May 5 (6 weeks ago) and I am very happy with my decision. I agree with the others on this…

Great Claire! I'm Susan and I'm 51, in Albuquerque, NM. When I started this bariatric journey I was 284 lbs. I had the sleeve done May 5 and I am down by 44 lbs. Keep up the good work. It is SO worth it.

Good job! You're inspiring me.

I've been on and off for over a year. I just got back on to MyFitnessPal last week. I'm excited to be a part of this community. Good Luck and I hope you are more consistent than I've been. I'm working on it. :)
