I am also training for a half marathon! Mine is September 29th, and it'll be my first run longer than a 5K. I have my first six mile training run in the morning. I'm 26 and 5'6'', also with about 30 lbs to lose. It sounds like we have a lot in common, I'm going to add you!

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to focus on my breath and my technique next time I'm swimming laps. I've used a kick board before and it was tiring! Are there specific workouts you do with them or just swimming back and forth, using the kick board under your arms?

I started running a few weeks ago and on days when I run I have a hard time falling asleep. It doesn't matter what time of day I run. I don't know if you've been exercising but that has been my experience.

Okay great, thanks! On my rest days I haven't been doing much outside of going for a quick walk, and I always feel like I want to do more. Ray Liotta came into the shoe store I worked at and bought a pair of Ugg boots from me. I had no idea who he was and spent quite a while talking to him, and after he left my manager started gushing about how jealous he was. He was a really nice guy and ended up coming back into the store more than once.

Also, most of the thin celebrities don't even look the way they do in pictures, etc. Photoshop is a miracle worker!

I always eat back my exercise calories when I have time to earn any! My campus has a really nice rec center and I'm going to get my boyfriend a membership next quarter so we both have some motivation to get out of the house and get some exercise. I'm really looking forward to that!

I am 5'6", so pretty close! The 1200 does seem pretty low, but I'm also a student and the vast majority of my time is spent sitting in front of my books and computer, so I don't burn many calories throughout the day.

It's been harder lately now that it's darker earlier and cold. It's like my body is trying to put on its winter weight!

I love having eggs for breakfast, I just usually don't have the time except on weekends. Maybe I'll buy some and hard boil them in advance so I have the extra protein in the morning!
