I started lifting with 5x5 a few years ago after doing mostly just running and I loved it. My only regret was not starting lifting sooner! Start lifting, you won't regret it! :)

Don't stop lifting. As said previously, it will pay off. There are plenty of examples on MFP, among other places, if you need to remind or encourage yourself. Don't. Stop. Lifting. :smile:

^This. If you haven't already, just search through some of the heavy lifting forums and see what it has done for people. I used SL when I first got into free weights a few years ago; I thought it was a great program to get me started. Good luck!

Heck no! A 12 minute mile is better than not running at all. Don't stress out by comparing your pace to others. Just keep running if you enjoy it, speed will come.

Workout B went much better today! Squat 70 OHP 38 (used the EZ bar and added some weight)......form felt good and the weight was still a challenge! Ha! I have not heard BAMF in forever, but that is so how I felt after my whopping 65 lb deadlifts today! Lol. I am sure once I start lifting more (and get some mats since I lift at home) I will be "slamming" my weights down too! :laugh:
