• Really awesome transformation, very inspiring! Congratulations!
• I just experienced this phenomenon last night! I started eating some almonds and I literally had to walk out of my house to stop myself from eating them all. Not sure what to do about that...hopefully it was just a moment of weakness. Very wary of the almond jar from here on out. -Geek
• Good morning Cool Kids! Hope everyone's day is starting off fabulous. I'm getting ready for work and thought I'd pop in and say hello. Woke up pretty stiff from the gym but the soreness is relenting a bit . Today is a running day for me so I'll look forward to that tonight. Back I the gym tomorrow. Feel really good this…
• Amazing job! You look awesome!
• Hey cool kids! Been a busy weekend and haven't had much time for the group...sorry. Its been rough this weekend trying to stay on track...but I've managed. I'm still coming down after a stellar week and I think that silly part of my brain of mine has been trying to tell me I'm done...which I'm not. I headed into the gym…
• Before @ 255+ lbs. (8/2012) - After @ 175lbs (ish) (8/8/2014)
• Wow, amazing transformation! Good Job!
• 30:18, one of the highlights of my life crossing the finish line.
• Great Job! You look amazing.
• I wish I could tell you that I had some magic pill for the belly...but based on my experience and what I've researched over the last year there really isn't any way to "target" your belly. You just have to drop body fat and eventually (the very last thing to go in my case) the belly will disappear. In a way I was glad that…
• Since Friday I just happened to golf in the same outing that I was in for one of my original pics, I thought I'd throw up a comparison shot of me in 2012 vs today. I take this same picture every year in a charity event we sponsor. [img]http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r482/Darin_Van_Raes/Transformation…
• Thank you all for the positive uplifting responses. Truly humbling. Couldn't have done it without this community and the tools I've come to depend on out here.
• 6'0"...fairly small boned or thin boned.
• Hey Cool Kids! A good morning to you all. Its been a busy week here for me. Last night I ran my first 5K ever and it was AMAZING! I ran a personal best time of 30:18, still pretty slow :( but my best! This was a cool race because it went right by my parents house in the neighborhood I grew up in. All the neighbors and my…
• It can be hard at times, I have have often had to battle myself. There is no single path for everyone, you have to find what works for you and listen carefully to your body. Best of luck in your pursuits and if you give MFP the time it can be very helpful. There are a lot of good people out here facing a common obstacle.…
• Up my calories significantly...slowly though...and continue to run while the weather is nice. I plan on heading to the gym to shape up the mush left behind after the losses. Thanks again!
• Thanks all! I'm very proud and thankful. I just wandered into my goal weight this morning! 175.8lb. Woohoo!
• Congratulations, great story and what an awesome achievement! Bask in it!
• Curious, sorry to hear about your BF. Hope he recovers quickly.
• Well Good Morning Cool Kids! I just finished a 4 mile run and feel fantastic. Its a great way to start my day. Caramelgyrlk - Congratulations on your first 5K! I'm so looking forward to feeling that rush as I've been working towards this for a long time. I expect my time to be fairly close to yours but I'll surely post my…
• Curious - Thanks for the encouragement, sorry to hear about your hip issue. I've really learned to love running...something I've always frowned on in my early years. When I was in the military I hated it...HATED IT. For some reason it just brings me some peace when I'm out there alone running with my tunes on. My race is…
• I under-pronate so I need a neutral shoe. I have recently switched to Asics Gel-Nimbus 16's. I was running in Brooks Ghost series (6's and 7's) but was having calf problems. I've only got two runs on the new Asics but so far so good. The Ghosts are lighter though so I will miss them for long runs...they still serve as my…
• Curious, thanks for the welcome. It has taken me a little over a year to lose 75lbs and that was with a 17lb gain in the middle. I've been back on course since May so roughly 12 weeks for the last 35lbs. After I'm at goal weight I'm heading I to the gym to start lifting again. I've limited my exercise to cardio only this…
• Have been reading this thread and it seems like a really positive group. I'd love to be a part of it. I'm 44 and nearing my goal. I'm set to run my first 5k next week and I'm really excited! I've also been really excited about my consistency lately and it seems like all my fitness goals are within reach finally. Im quickly…
• I have a flex and my Force is ordered. I don't wear a watch however i constantly find myself looking at the flex as if it was going to magically tell me the time. When I heard about the force I was instantly compelled to order :). My Flex is very good however and I credit this device for keeping me moving. Its a great tool!
• Keto "diets" work just fine as does anything that ultimately lowers your calorie count. I've been on a Keto diet since July and have lost 40lbs. I would debate anyone who says I've simply lost water weight and muscle. The fact of the matter for me is that I have lost a bunch of fat. If you do any serious research at all,…
• Love my Fitbit Flex and I find it to be fairly accurate. Assuming you link your fitbit account to MFP sometimes I get weird calorie subtractions in the morning until I've done some steps...but other than that...it just needs to be close to keep my on my toes. Enjoy your new Fitbit!
• I feel for you man, I know that feeling all too well wanting the lights out. You have done it before and frankly no amount of advice from me or anyone else is going to amount to much unless you just reach inside and want it. There is no magic sauce we can pour over our meals. I struggle with having junk food around me all…
• My wife and I both have the Fitbit Flex and we really like them. I doesn't bother me at all to have this around my wrist....I dont wear a watch anyway. Its very motivating to me personally, your mileage will vary. I love trying to get to that 10,000 step goal each day and its nice to know at a glance how close I am. The…
