I love this! hmm.... 1. When I am stressed and needing comfort, I will come to the boards or talk to a friend rather than the unhealthy comfort of food. 2. I will make it to the gym 5 days a week for at least 1 hour (2 being the goal) 3. I will eat fruits and especially veggies every day 4. I will drink more water

The struggle for me will be the soda. 1. I get it free, even on the days I don;t work and 2. I'm addicted! Sometimes I just CRAVE that bubbly sugary goodness (aka cancer). Right now talking about it I want some but I also know how truly horrible it is for my body and I believe I can resist for the sake of my health and…

This is SO for me! I work at a gas station where i get free soda and $1 bags of chips stare me in the face all day. Those two things alone have ruined me. lol. I already quit them both for Jan on my own with the re-boot of my diet so I am very up for the challenge :D Awesome!

Hi, I'm fairly new to MFP. I've had the app for a while but wasn't using it regularly. I found the website a week ago (didn't know it was more than an app) and I've been much more dedicated now with so much support! I love it! I've lost 2 lbs this past week, now with the help of the site! Just now I discovered groups and…

Definitely eat and burn. The exercise is what makes you skinny AND healthy. Eating less with no exercise may make you skinny but you certainly wont be healthy. And it's a LOT better to NOT be hungry all the time.... if you just eat more healthy foods and work off a portion of it. Now that I do it that way I'm much less…

i agree, dont over think it, lol... i start freaking out about little details like this and it's not worth it. Generally i record things as from wake - sleep. So I don't go from 12am-12pm because I'm often awake after midnight. sometimes with a situation like yours where it's literally teeter-tottering between deciding…

its funny i know this with men but i have to remind myself with women. I know I look at the women, especially the ones in perfect shape, like "i wanna know what they do here to look that fantastic. I wanna look like that someday!" but then i don't go looking at those heavier than me and think "man, they're not trying hard…

I actually don't mind it because then i feel so bad being so weak. lol. when giant guys are around you, you dont feel so bad for being a girl who can only press 30-100lbs. Haha! I'd feel more self conscious if I were around women in much better shape than me doing my entire workout as their warm-up. Guys don't bother me…

definitely! Fast food is terrible when you never eat it, and a candy bar is overly sweet to the point of being sickly sweet when you never eat it. im finding myself enjoying the sweetness of fruit more these days. Its tastes incredible now that im picking better foods as a whole.

I too, needed this. Whenever I start counting calories, I start freaking out about calories. It's rough!! But this website makes it such a better journey. I've always been alone in this and having people to talk to makes a world of difference.

Ive been trying to treat fruit as more of a snack or dessert. vegetables are way better for our bodies so I try to eat more of that. But i agree, it's pretty difficult to stay below the default suggested amount! I go over a lot and that's staying hundreds under my max calorie limit.

well where are you? I sometimes go at 9am so if you're on the east coast that would be about the same time. EDIT. lol, im dumb, wrong direction in time.

it's possible! I'm doing it! However, I started the quitting smoking one month before I started dieting. 1. quitting helps me work harder at the gym and 2. I was already stressed and irritable quitting and didn't want to add to it with starting a diet at the same exact moment. So I quit... and about a month later I felt…

i love them on sandwiches, like turkey. I also eat them with a spoon as is, put them in a salad, or even a smoothie.

ohhh, that must be it then, my photobucket account has it uppercase IMG, thats funny that it would matter edit: it works!!! Thank you :p

Giving up fast food has made it so i don't crave fast food. Every time I eat it it makes me feel sick and regret not eating real food. So other than the obvious health benefits, it's nice to feel better.

Holy Cow! Everyone's transformations on here are truly impressive, many look to be entirely new people! lol. Seriously motivating! I'm going to try my luck with posting photos..... this is my early before.... August 2008.... what i'd like to get back to BUT with more muscle tone... i never worked out, I was just thinner.…

I'm new. How do you post photos?
-
with every pound i imagine. Take "before" photos. I would say you may be able to tell with each set of 10 lbs lost. I have "before" photos that are hidden in a maze of folders. lol. I dont want people to see them but it helps motivate me to see the difference in my body.

i can see why people get confused into thinking it's normal to hold onto something while walking. It feels natural to me because I was often pushing a stroller around for the past 4 years. when i started speed-walking on the tredmill it felt right to hold the bar in front of me. I imagined pushing s stroller. but I don't…

Haha, I'm totally guilty! In the past I have definitely done this.... Everyone else was! HOWEVER, I started looking at what the people WHO WERE IN SHAPE.... were doing at the gym, and I never saw them do that. So I stopped. One girl at the gym told me it's better to walk at a slight incline for 5 miles than to even run…

I'd like to be at my goal weight before I get married
-
not sure, all i know is that I lose from my stomach last

I like that I'm tall. I think I have a good height. At a decent weight i look pretty good. I have nice hair as well (natural). Great Topic! Thanks for posting. :)

haha! Okay im glad im not the only one to 100% cross it out of my diet. I'm not a big drinker in the first place, a few beers every few weeks or so... but it looks like a few will have to be more like 1-2 max. i agree, just make sure i burn those cals at the gym on top of my normal workout!
-
i sent you a request :D i too am 24 and my goal weight is also 130!
-
oh gosh, i should.... you're so strong!! i would go nuts i think and end up stuffing myself after a week, lol. But it's really good for you. Are you also cutting out sugar from things like fruit? Or just typical sugary sweets?
-
cool, then we're similar in struggle :) Thank you
-
i think it's a waste of cals.... way too much fat and sodium usually, enough for the whole day and certainly not a food packed with nutrients.... but who cares? lol. You do what you wan and I'll do what I want. Its all about intake and output of calories.... as long as you're losing weight and it works for you, good for…
