  • I agree with Stradtl. It didn't take 2 weeks for you to gain t he weight you are now trying to lose, therefore it won't take 2 weeks to lose it. More likely, you are like many of us and the weight just gradually started creeping up on you. Be patient, the pounds will drop off. Take a search through the message boards and…
  • you look great!!! Congratulations on all your hard work!:flowerforyou:
  • thank you, thank you, my MFP friends :blushing: ! And no, I didn't sleep in my jeans  Tamishumate: hats off to YOU for your weight loss - that is amazing!!!:flowerforyou:
  • I like peanut butter & honey on whole wheat. I use Country Kithen light Whole wheat, 35 cal per slice. And it tastes much better when the bread is toasted. Just as sweet as jelly but much lower on the glycemic index so it's a little "healthier" than jelly.

  • did you pop the blister before you covered it up? When I get a blister, I immediately pop and drain it, put a dab of neosporin on it then cover it with a bandaid overnight. It's usally gone the next day - I swear by neosporin! If you continually get blisters on the same spot, you can try putting some moleskin over the area…
  • I'm no expert, I can only tell you what works for me, and that is simply counting the number of calories. I generally eat pretty healthy foods anyway, so I don't worry about it if I go over on the carb/protein/fat counts because I know I'm eating the right type of carbs and fats, and I'm also exercising consistently. Once…
  • That sounds great! I'm not a fan of the fish sauce though so i will try making this over the weekend without it.
  • Ditto. It is totally worth the money to invest in the right shoes for your feet, posture and gait. I don't know where you lice, but if you do a little research you should be able to find a running store that is staffed people who can guide you toward the appropriate shoe for you. Furthermore, you absolutely should not be…
  • I'm with you - portion control has always been my issues as well. I have always eaten healthy foods just too much of them. And I guess I was blessed with a good metabolism, because my weight was never an issue until the last few years, once I turned 35 the pounds started creeping up. I tried counting calories a couple of…
  • Will need to know what type of snacks you like first, there are so many options!
  • There is one night during the week when I have to grab something on the go too, and this is always my dilemna! I too love McDonald's Southwest Chicken salad! I recently discovered that their bacon ranch grilled chicken salad is even lower in calories, which surprised me, and if you get it with the lowcal balsamic…
  • Personally, I am very happy to wave the girls goodbye! I was never small-chested, even when I was a size 4 I wore a C cup, which went up to a D when I gained a little weight. Not so bad as a 20 or even 30 something, but now that I hit the big 40 this year, I noticed that my buddies like a little more "moral support" than…
  • You should be eating your exercise calories too. If not, your body might be thinking that it's "starving" and hold onto everything you're taking in
  • Good for you! Healthy food IS a treat in my opinion. I love fish and am fortunate to live in an area where it is plentiful, so I frequently have it (or a nice lean filet of beef) with roasted veggies and healthy whole grains seasoned with exotic spices from around the world. So much better that greasy cheeseburgers with…
  • Yeah, what kaitlinj said!
  • I add some unsweetened hershey's cocoa powder to either plain or vanilla yogurt with slced strawberries. If I use the plain yogurt then I add a packet of equal to sweeten it up.
  • This is another good alternative! In fact, maybe on the screen where we enter foods, there can be an additional field for country of origin?
  • Of course people have the right to add foods to the database, I was not suggesting otherwise. I did form an alternative, which was to first carefully check the database for existing entries before typing in duplicates. It makes the database unnecessarily cumbersome to have so many repeated foods. I respect your opinion…
  • If that is your primary form of mobility, than I would consider it in your overall activity level, just as someone who uses walking for their primary form of mobility. I wouldn't consider it exercise in and of itself. However, it is less efficient than walking, and you are using smaller muscles in your upper body, which…
  • In addition to the mileage on them, it's also important that you buy good running shoes at a proper store becuase the shelf-life of the materials must be taken into consideration too. Even sitting on a warehouse shelf for 2 years will cause the rubber and glue etc to begin to break down. If you are buying them at an outlet…
  • That is a good point and I didn't think of that. However I don't think it's possible that the same exact product has been reformulated over 50+ times!
  • There is such a popup. I guess it goes largely ignored.
  • there was another post where lots of people recommended Enell. I just got my first one and it's great for high impact activities. I plan on buying a couple more. It does feel a little constricting at first but you get used to it.
  • Try mixing a TBS of unsweetened cocoa powder into the yogurt! BTW, I found a whole wheat bread that is only 35 calories per slice! Country Kitchen.
  • Black Bean Brownies!! Yeah, I know exactly what you're thinking, but you gotta trust me on this. You can find a recipe by either doing a search on the message boards or google. And whatever you do, don't tell anyone who's eating them what's in them - trust me on that too!:ohwell:
  • I'm no nutritionist, but as in everything, I believe if you eat the yolks in moderation you should be just fine.
  • This is exactly what I do! Mmmm, now I'm hungry...
  • Same trouble here! I am so good about my calories on exercise days, but that day off kills me! And not only am I hungry, but I crave the worst foods! I too try to keep it as a maintenance day, which means I'm not having a deficit at the end of the day but I'm not going overboard either.
  • You have a right to be touchy, you worked hard and deserve your accreditation, and I'm sorry if what I wrote belittled it in any way - I swear I didn't mean to! :flowerforyou: I admit I was posting after a couple of scotch soda's AND I was watching TV at the same time, so I wasn't exactly reading through all the posts as…
  • My goodness, I had no idea how much ire a misplaced hyphen would cause! A thousand apologies to you - I wasn't trying to offend anyone here, just congratulate Dixon.
