I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm super excited to be taking part in the Mud Hero race in July out near Grand Beach. 6KM, 15+ Obstacles and lots of MUD!! Also, I'll be doing the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Half-Marathon on October 19th...I'm actually trying to decide if I'll wear a costume or not, being that it is so close to halloween!

I ran 14KMs without walk breaks. Normally I follow a 10/1 run/walk pattern on my long runs. Last week-end, using this split, I completed 16.25 KMs with a faster overall pace compared to the 14KM steady run I had done the week before. Walk breaks give me just enough recovery to maintain a good race pace.

If you say you can't, then you won't. Yes, it's cliche, but it is the truth. His choices to be on his meds or not, are his choices and you can not control that. If you believe you can change him, you probably won't. You life is full of choices - right now you are choosing what feels like the easiest because of many…

Absolutely wonderful. Congrats!

Sometimes I use some premixed taco seasoning. I don't buy it as often now as I like to mix my own herbs, but it would work just fine.

I haven't found one that I prefer. Honestly, turkey/chicken meat is just too lean in the ground form to make a tasty juicy burger. Most that I have tried reminded me of cardboard, and I felt rather unsatisfied. When I make homemade patties, I mix ground sirloin and ground chicken if I'm wanting something a bit leaner.

I'd be inclined to think this way too - but, the 1/4 pound patties are usually weighed before cooking, as it is with most meats. I would personally go through the MFP database for something named "extreme burger" or the like, and assume it to be close enough in calories because at that point I would be way to concerned…

I have used it in a pinch before - I don't use it often because I find it to be pretty high in sodium. I like to mix it up with some taco type spices - cumin, chili powder, garlic etc. and will use it in taco salad, throw it in a shell with some cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce etc. You can easily mix it with some BBQ…

I still remember the episode of Reading Rainbow where Levar Burton took the audience to the Star Trek set, and I was SHOCKED when he assumed post as Geordi LaForge, because I had always thought that person ALWAYS wore those awesome glasses.

I have a weird sensation rising from within, perhaps anger at the thought you would delete friends because we are Canadian. But, I know my manners, and I remember that we are a polite, welcoming, non-agressive, non-confrontational country, and so I say Thank You for your honesty and for giving those friends a chance. I…

QFT!! I'm all over the map with bra sizes right now, but, average in the F/G cup size and about a 34 band now. This bra is the BEST. Underwire to keep 'em seperated and lifted, adjustable convertable straps, wicks away sweat and I don't feel any movement. I purchased it in the 36D size and it doesn't give me uniboob nor do…

In the warmer weather I enjoy gin and soda with a couple of twists of lemon. But, I'm a sucker for red wine - and it's never less than 2 glasses sadly.

My 6 year old asks to come on runs with me too...I keep them pretty short, but only so she doesn't get turned off of the idea of running all together. She did go to the school running club for a few weeks too, before she realized that she missed that "play" time during lunch hour with her friends on the playground.

You'll get up there yet! I'm 5'11 and I wear everything from flats for 5" stillettos. I still don't dust the top of my fridge - no one else in my family can see it.

Hi All - not sure why I didn't know about this group until now. I'm from South East Winnipeg, Island Lakes actually. Awesome see so many locals. Feel free to add me.

I find Runtastic to be similar to MFP and my Treadmill reading in terms of its estimation of calories burnt. Always a fair bit higer than my HRM. Does the Mio Motion have a chest strap? If it does, that would be your most accurate estimation (which they all are anyway).

Congrats on the time! I'm hoping to be sub 3 for my first half in October.

Congratulation of not only what you lost, but also everything you have gained!

That is an amazing moment, and one to be proud of. I haven't done a race yet, but when I first went to the public running times at the local running room I was nervous of holding people up, wasting their mornings etc. I was blown away with just how friendly, supportive, motivating, encouraging and all around NICE the…

I have a heck of a time finding sports bras that I can fit my breasts in without feeling like they are being held under my chin. I am tall, and have a lot of length between my shoulder and my rib cage where a bra band sits. Too many sports bras aren't adjustable in the straps and I get discouraged. I did however fall in…
