+1 on the foam roller - I really need to use it more regularly, instead of when I can "feel" my ITB. I also noticed that with squat type exercises that my feet will naturally turn out too far if my ITB is tight, even if it hasn't been bothering me.

My wife and I have/had the same problem, except it goes back and forth - it also doesn't help the neither of us really loves to cook and we both work opposite schedules. Two things we've tried to do is make cooking together an activity (usually I make the meat and she does the rest :p) and pick one meal a week to go out…

This. I lost the first 60 pounds in ~6 months. I started going to a gym, then I started going out to eat a LOT less, then I gradually went to a healthier eating style and counting calories more closely, then I started running in addition to going to the gym. Now that there aren't as many changes and my body is getting used…

I like it - just using it for running now, but will try it during circuit/hiit sometime. I use it with a Polar bluetooth HRM though, so the calorie burn estimates are pretty good in my experience (not sure how they would be without it).

I use "Fit Body Bootcamp" (happens to be the one I do) which gets me ~350 cals for 25 minutes. That's probably low though, I should start wearing my HRM and tracking it that way though (I'm not an everyday counter anyways either)...

Commenting to say I like the goodkind pic! Read the first 2 Sword of Truth books and am hooked (stupid library has like 1 copy of each book for like all of minneapolis though). Also protein bars are probably bad, but I do sometimes eat them out of convenience if I need the extra calories (although there are probably other…

I'm kind of in the same boat (except my run/cardio is bonding with my dog instead of my wife :p) and I've been doing a half hour circuit/interval training (Fit Body Boot Camp), but I'm thinking about switching to lifting instead of the circuit training (although I enjoy that also). I've been doing research and it seems…

I use endomondo to track my runs, it integrates with GPS (and my Polar wearlink HRM) to track speed, distance, pace, etc. It has the ability to track other types of workouts, but I've never tried it for that so I can't say how well it will work for that. IT links up with MFP to auto add (subtract?) workout calories too.…

Vitamix. I couldn't believe how much better it was than the cheapo blender it replaced. I figure it will at the very least break even since we use it 1-2 times a day versus having to buy a cheaper blender every couple of years.

Ting (sprint MNVO). They have an interesting no contract monthly usage based billing model and you can use most sprint phones (my wife and I got cheap Galaxy S3's since everyone just upgraded to the S4) with them. For two smartphones we pay ~40-60 a month (Ting charges you $6 per active device and then charges you based on…

For the most part I don't completely give up anything, but everytime I get gas at holiday I have to make sure I don't get one of these: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/update_nutrition_facts/78772319?date=2013-06-13&show_controls=true because it's a rough rest of the day if I do.

Frank blew his coat in January and already is doing it again... luckily we have hardwood and a furminator (although you are right about the tumbleweeds!)

According to endomondo my average so far for the month is 9:39 min/mi (31.76 miles 5:06:20) with my 5k best at 26:14 and 10k best at 1:00:56. Still overweight and a complete novice at running, but getting there. Hoping to run a half marathon this fall in the 2:15 range (right around 10:30/mile).

Sometimes I have a quick handful of nuts or granola right before - I find if I have something in my stomach when I start it helps me pace myself better, but I am only running 4-6 miles a run right now. I've gotten used to running after eating the more I do it though (it used to really bother me), due to my summer runs…

Here in Minnesota they started a campaign called the "zipper merge" http://www.dot.state.mn.us/zippermerge/ where they encourage people to merge as late as possible and use both lanes because they claim its safer and reduces congestion. So I try to use whichever lane is shorter.
