I'm 22, so my opinion wasn't asked, but...be yourself, and do what you want to do! As long as you're not hurting yourself, why limit yourself?

Tiny Dancer is AWESOME. It's my favorite Elton John song. And I have "Tik Tok" on my workout playlist, but I'm so nervous that people around me will hear it that I usually skip it. Or maybe I really just don't care for it. I haven't decided.

Oh, come on...I never had a thing for David Cassidy, but he's got more going for him than Justin Beiber. He's an actor, he can sing real music without being autotuned, and David Cassidy has a lot more cute in him now, at age 60-whatever, than Bieber does. Just the opinion of a 22-year-old... As for the song I'm embarrassed…

I don't know what your beef is with the OP, but MSG really does have an addictive quality, increase weight gain (partly because you're eating more, and partly because IT MAKES YOU OBESE), and it can cause migraines. There are people with MSG sensitivity, although that's not the topic here. The OP also provides her source;…

LOL, mine does that, too! She's such an idiot. She'll fart, and when my brother is around, she'll poke him with her nose as if she's trying to pin it on him. When he's not around, she'll freeze for a second like, "what was that?" and then turn around and stare at her back end like, "was that you again?" She does all kinds…

Doritos have MSG, as do most flavored chips, and Cheetos, and Funyuns. :-(

Love this topic...I actually checked it out because I thought it would be more controversial, but it looks like most posters so far are okay with it. I also don't think it's a generational thing, exactly; I think that most people are who they are (in interests and most major values/beliefs) from teen years until death. I…

Hello, everyone! I'm joining late because I'm a competitive person and in the past these challenges kept me in line. I haven't lost weight (and, to make matters worse, I've gained) since the last one...so I'm back. SW: 191 CW: 190 GW: 188 (since there are only two weeks left in the month Weigh in Dates: 3/1 - (191) 3/8 -…

I don't know if I am capable in restoring your respect for humanity, but I can tell you for sure that everyone in my family would call, and I would definitely get involved. I CAN'T stay out of it when things like that happen. Sad thing is, I'm short and chunky, who is not very strong or fit. I'd probably get my butt…

 I don't think anyone thinks teen pregnancies are okay. Studies show that many teens - and only slightly fewer adults - know about fertility and proper birth control methods. I saw someone the other day recommend "pulling out" over birth control pills or an IUD to a person with a latex allergy. Many young people:…

Say it again! My biggest (besides all kinds of abuse and inequality previously mentioned) are: 1. People who think that being asked to treat others equally and respectfully is the same as having their freedom of speech taken away. Treating others as you presumably want to be treated is hardly limiting your rights. 2.…

1. My name is Alicia 2. I had lost 34 pounds... 3. ...But I gained almost 20 back, so I now have 50 pounds to go. 4. If I had to give one piece of advice, it would be STICK WITH IT - whatever "it" is that you do to lose weight. I lost that 34 pounds from doing nothing more than watching my intake (wasn't exercising). I…

I think we're meant to be friends. Feel free to add me!

Some cancer cells (in tumors, etc.) use sugar to grow/thrive. This, of course, doesn't explain why your daughter doesn't want to eat sweets now.......but you can look this up; there were news stories about this.

You clearly did not read the original post, and should not have passed sex ed. If that's supposed to be funny, it's not.

Bumping this for the links about dealing with TOM. DARN YOU, TOM!!!

Instead of white bread, I eat Healthy Life's 35 calorie/5 carb whole grain bread. Instead of whole milk, I drink 1% or skim. Not a huge difference per cup, but since I used to drink an average of about 14 cups of milk/day (yeah, dairy "addict" - but I'm under half of that now), it would make a 140-420 calorie difference…

20% of what? (I'd like to know, because I'm not losing weight either, except I'm eating right around 1400 calories a day.)

I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum...but I wanted to say congratulations! I will do whatever I can to support you.

If there's somewhere in your community where you can go swimming this time of year, I forget how much an hour of swimming burns, but it's up there. Same for biking (real biking, not on a machine). Good luck!

I don't count stuff that I do on a daily basis, becuase my body is already used to burning those calories - but, for example, raking leaves and shoveling snow are things I don't ordinarily do that do provide a nice burn. Last fall when I raked leaves, I realized that I hadn't been working out all of my arm muscles, because…

Your dancing lady is moving at the same speed as the beat of the song I was listening to when the thread loaded.

I don't have anything to contribute (unfortunately) but I love the ideas!

I thought it was supposed to match...(like clothes and accessories, if you're wearing it, it should at least go with)...but I'm not up on that stuff. Seems like the majority of people think it's bad, but I happen to like matchin, or at least using the same color. On the other hand, I'm either rushing to work or wearing…

I'd like to add that I was not trying to go super-low-carb. I was doing about 30 grams per meal, mostly from fruit and veggies as opposed to processed carbs (pastas/breads/etc.). I read somewhere that 40-60 grams of carbs per meal is considered average, so I wasn't that far off; I was just eating less of the "bad" stuff…

Sorry to pile it on, but I also tried low-carbing and the results are great, but short-lived. I was doing pretty good for a while, but if you ever want to eat pizza or birthday cake again, it's really a bad diet, because the weight comes back as quickly as it went away. Plus, I plateaued after only six pounds lost.…

 Fantastic post, SeaRunner! I'm going to point this out the next time someone says what this person said.
