I just returned to MFP after a long absence. I think it was 2014 the last time I participated in one of these challenges. I always felt most motivated when doing this particular challenge and I'm really glad to see they're still going. I'm looking forward to the March challenge. Thank you!

Hi all, I did these “lose 5+ pounds” monthly challenges many years ago (last time was probably around 2012) and it really helped me stay on track as far as making better food choices. I’ve been having almost constant sugar cravings since the holidays and I could really use some extra motivation now. I came to the community…

Probably duplicates of someone (since there are 205 pages of responses), but nobody ever told me: -That once I'd dropped 35 pounds I would start to agree with my coworkers who insisted it was cold in our office -That, contrary to popular belief, my bust would not shrink when I lost weight (but it increased a cup size for…

I also did the ZenLabs C25K program. Before starting the program I had never run a quarter of a mile in my adult life, and by the time I finished I could run for 20 minutes straight without breaks. It really does work if you keep to it. It helped me that my brother (who is in excellent shape and runs for fun) basically…

In 2012 I was doing these challenges and it helped me get down to where I wish I were now. I've tried getting back on MFP a few times over the last couple of years but it never seems to last more than two days. I'm thinking getting back into the challenges will help. It's just 31 days and five pounds - how hard can it be,…

The first time I lost the weight - or, at least, 35 of the 60 pounds I wanted to lose - I lost the first 18 pounds by pretty much only drinking chocolate milk. It was the middle of summer, and heat makes me lose my appetite, so I was drinking about 4-7 cups of chocolate milk a day and eating about one meal a day. I…

Seems to me that telling women how to dress shows a lack of respect...

Yes - usually if I do something that gets me really out of breath (which doesn't take too much right now). I did the Couch to 5K program and, for probably the first five weeks, coughed and wheezed after each workout for up to an hour.

There was love all around, but I never heard it singing...till there was you

I accept...but I might have to do this in 10 parts. :s

Congratulations! I'm looking to lose about 50 pounds myself. Feel free to add me!

First choice is, "I found a portal to an alternate reality where things are much easier for us." In second place, "I bought this giant milk chocolate Hershey bar for you."

That gave me goose bumps. I think about that movie all the time.

If you guys like this, you might also like PostSecret. It's amazing. Some of the best things to happen in my life came from some of the worst things that have ever happened to me.

Congratulations! Losing the weight alone would have been a wonderful success, but setting records and placing second and first in lifting competitions is amazing. Nice job!

Congratulations! Beautiful pictures. Your hard work and commitment definitely shows!

Sorry to hear that. It's great that you're seeing a doctor, and that your doctor recommended a dietician. As others have said, 800 calories is dangerously low, and I'm glad you're seeing someone who can help you set better goals for your body. I hope you feel better soon!

Ew........that adds another layer of gross to the creepy. After reading all the comments up so far, it's funny to see that some of the songs I'm least annoyed by are some of the ones that make other people want to break things and hurt people. For example, McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" is one that I like because…

I really like the style of "Baby It's Cold Outside" and I think the overlapping lines between the male and female singers is pretty clever - but I absolutely cannot and will not deny the amount of creepy. There are moments in the song where it seems like she's kind of into the flirting but then he starts trying for…

Congratulations! Excellent warm, happy, fuzzy story of success. Celebrate and be proud of your hard work!

OP, I'm sorry about your mom. Nice job changing your mindset, defining your why, and doing what you need to do to be there for those you love. I am turning 24 next month. I'm "obese" according to the BMI scale, but I don't feel that big. I'm also not especially self-conscious, although it sure was a confidence boost 35…

LOL! It may very well be the worst Christmas song ever, but I think some of the recent versions have made it worse. Then again, the original......so 1980's....*shudders*

Yes, although technically half the police were chasing the guy who hit me, and the other half were chasing me. I got into a car accident with the dude, who then rammed my car several times to "get my attention" - but I took it as a threat (it was my first car accident and I was already scared) and I left the scene. The…
