Could I just go into my university gym and ask them about heavier weights? What kind of weights would I need to be doing?
-
I used to do resistance, but after 2 months I saw no improvement and gave up. I know that's not the right way to do it but I was very frustrated. My gym told me to use small 5kg weights and I didn't think they were helping much.

I know I am not underweight but I am on the higher end of normal. My frame is quite small so I think I would look better at about 120lbs

They put syrup on the Egg McMuffins where you live? Gross...

Only 80 calories? Wow I wish we had them in Ireland! Most of the ones I see have about 200 calories. I'm going to the states in a month's time so much try them out! Thanks for the suggestion :)

I use Light Soy Milk because I like the taste of it better than cow's milk. Ever since I was little I never liked the taste of cow's milk. Soy milk is also lower in sugar and high in protein, and the brand I use (Alpro) is fortified with calcium and vitamins. I've tried Almond Milk because of the rave reviews and the fact…

I just can't be bothered to log it

Thank you for the image! I've been told that I have 20% body fat by my dietician, but I love the look of the 15-17% body fat woman in the image. And thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I found it hard to come to terms with the fact that what he said probably wasn't true! Some people find pleasure in…

Hmm I find it so hard to calculate TDEE, all the calculators give me different numbers! And yep, that's me! That experience didn't exactly give me a confidence boost ;) But I'm still here!
-
If this is the case, do you think my dietician is totally wrong? What would be another explanation for not losing weight?
-
2 Eggs, cooked however you like (Scrambled, poached, boiled..) 1 Tbsp Peanut Butter with 1 Slice Wholegrain Toast, or Apple or Banana Protein Shake made with Non Fat Milk Cottage Cheese and Crackers/Melba Toast Fruit Salad

Yes this is true, she is more concerned with Body Fat rather than weight. She calculated my body fat as 20%, using the electronic machine that sends electric signals through your body. I'm not sure how accurate that is.
-
I don't know why she would lie about the calories not being important. She knows that I am a strict calorie counter and she is trying to get me to actually stop being so regimented with counting and weighing everything. It's not that I eat candy, but she thinks that the cereals I eat are too sugary, and I use maple syrup…

I am not overweight but I still have a bit of fat that I could lose
-
Hmm yes I understand that completely, and I used to agree, but I just don't understand why I'm not losing weight then! I'm definitely not eating at maintenance...
-
Yes I do understand that but that would imply that I would still lose weight at a deficit no matter what?
-
I am going to try, I am just desperate to lose the weight once and for all. My macros are usually around 50/25/25 so why would 50/30/20 make such a huge difference?

As a dietician she has a degree in Human Nutrition & Dietetics

That's what I thought was the case, but according to my dietician, it's not about the amount of calories, but the type of food. I usually eat between 1300-1500 calories a day. According to Katch Mc Ardle my TDEE is 1850

If calories are a concern, choose a cappuccino over a latte. The foaming process of the cappuccino also doubles the volume of the milk, making it less calorie dense than the latte. In the cafe I work for , a tall skinny cappuccino is 68 cals. Be warned though, in some cafes, like the work I work in, "skinny" means low fat,…

You really shouldn't be on this site if you're 13...

Ok would I eat 1500 including exercise? Right now my weight loss has stalled so I really need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
-
I think that starvation mode is really only a worry for those with very little fat. If you have a lot of fat stored on your body then it can be burned for energy. However when I was on a diet of 800-1000 cals a day and borderline underweight my metabolism slowed way down and I stopped losing weight. It took about a year of…

That's because it is raw meat!

I second Lindt Dark Chocolate! So delicious and decadent :)

I usually try to aim for 40/30/30, that seems to be the optimum macronutrient ratio for me :)
