  • We lived in Japan for 6 years and I was at my healthiest weight ever there. Yes bread was the hardest thing to avoid, but I tried to eat more traditional food. Now back in Canada, we're eating lots of Japanese meals and it is working again!! Izakaya's were my down fall, beer and deep fried goodness!!!! Oh how I miss Japan.
  • Just saw your reply about volunteering. AWESOME!!! I did that for awhile as well but for me without a car of my own, I just couldn't get there often enough. I hope it goes really well!!! It's a great idea!
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. It takes a long time to feel ok after losing a loved pet and member of the family. When I decided a really needed to lose weight and needed a push to help, I advertised as a dog walker in my neighbourhood. Before long I had several regular clients. It got to the point that I had to turn people…
  • My goal is 140. I reached 135 years ago, but I'd be very very happy at 140.
  • I'm in Kitchener, the south end. Would love to have local support!
  • I have the exact same issue once it starts, not beforehand. I give myself 3 days to fall off the wagon and then get back on track. I try to drink more tea and water, walk a bit more but generally I forgive myself. I have started putting my indulgences into smaller bowls. Instead of the whole bag of chips, I get a bowl and…
  • For me the crock pot has been wonderful. I avoided it for years and it collected dust in the cupboard but now that and my rice cooker are in use several times a week. I have several under 30 minute meals written down and can just throw it on and let it go. I try to walk as much as possible, even a few extra flights of…
  • I'm struggling with that too. Every morning I wake up and think "I've got this!!" and by 2p.m. I only have 200-300 calories left for the day :( In the past what worked was having huge tubs of cut up veggies in the fridge, portioned out dried fruit/nut snacks and pre-measured cooked rice etc in the freezer ready to grab and…
  • After I've run everything through the juicer, I scrape out all the pulp and re-juice it once or twice. I ususally get quite a bit more juice from the pulp. I have a Breville juicer and I love it. Then I take the pulp, mix in some spices, roll it out on parchment paper on a cookie sheet and bake it. Home made YUMMY…
  • Hi, Just playing the other side. We have a juicer and use it everyday. We make 2-3 litres of mostly vegetable juice a day. Sometimes I add the juice I've made into a smoothie. I keep the vegetable pulp and make the most incredible crackers. (I add in seeds, nuts and spices) They are awesome. I also throw pulp into sauces,…
