Born in Glasgow, Scotland but now Sweden is my home, in a teeny tiny middle of nowhere village called Eket :)

We do have cheese but our other dairy products are lactose free for my daughters sake. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm not loosing I wouldn't be so bothered, but I haven't lost anything since I started MFP and it's plain depressing!

Avocados......yucky yuck!

I have been doing shotokan karate for exactly one year now. I'm an orange belt and hope to take my yellow in June. Just now we are working on improving our katas (taikyoku shodan, heian shodan and heian nidan) for competing as there are lots of opportunities to compete in spring here. We move slow and steady, we don't…

I'm a brit living in Sweden. When I lived in Scotland I bought belly pork from the butcher and asked them to slice it thin. Here the equivalent is sidfläsk and it is nearly always heavily smoked but I have lucked out with a brilliant farm which has their own butcher and I can get fresh unsmoked sidfläsk from them. I'm not…

This is a fantastic idea, I am in school full time, have 3 kids and train karate 4 nights a week so I really needed something like this. Have taken 5 of the recipes to whip up on Sunday and see if it will work for me over the next week. Thanks sooooo much for posting!

Funny this topic should catch my eye today, I have been off for a week and a half now due to real life happening and during that time I still lost weight but it's so comforting to be able to be on here today. Even if I'm not logging, just floating about on the site has a very positive effect on me. So if you decide not to…

I don't know if recommendations vary from country to country but here (Sweden) it's recommended to consume 200 extra calories per day when BFing. Gratz on the new baby too :)

English, Swedish, and a bit of German. Can understand Danish and Norwegian but I always reply in Swedish as they can understand me :D

I just read all 7 pages.....I don't get it :S *Crawls back under rock from whence she came*

I haven't done whole 30 but we don't use sugar or fake sugars. I do use a bit of honey or homemade applesauce if I want things sweetened though. The more you go without it the less you miss it to be honest, I don't feel like I need it now at all. I did try using artifical sweetners once upon a time and they gave me the…

I had a problem with hair loss for a bit and the doc said it was hormonal. Once I fixed my diet and quite using shampoo and other hair products (I wash it with baking soda now) it got better. Good luck, hope you get it sorted. :)

Me! Paleo (plus oatmeal and rice) for nearly 2 years now. Lost 25kgs and got rid of PCOS and anemia (sp). Love it :)

My hubby and daughter can't take gluten and we found it much easier to just learn to live without bread and pasta and the like. The gluten free alternatives were (in our experience) full of junk and just as processed and useless as the regular versions, not to mention they cost twice as much for half as much! It's taken a…

Your post prompted me to go into the kitchen and unpack the steamer my mum bought us for a wedding present (10 months ago lol) and it is now sitting looking at me expectantly. Is it irrational that I'm slightly intimidated by it? I have heard you can steam cakes in them, and chinese pork buns but I shall begin gently by…

I used my HRM and got 297. I'm 163cm and 84kg (sorry don't know what that is in imperial)

I have Fila Skeletoes and I love them. I feel like they really help with my bunion, just gutted that I can't wear them just now with all the snow and ice. And yeah they do look bonkers, loads of people have pointed that out, but hey, it's a conversation peice right? :D

Yello! I'm an orange belt in Shotokan karate (newbie level, or rather 2 steps up from utter newbie :D) and my son who is 7 is a full red belt as of 1 week ago.

Aha! I didn't think of goat products, thanks :)

So we are talking about whether it was morally right of her to post her comment, rather than whether her information was correct? I would say yes, it's her FB so she can post what she likes. She didn't break any rules, she just shared what she believes to be true whilst plugging her new business. (and who wouldn't try and…

I don't really see anything wrong with what she posted, as I'm not the worlds biggest fan of anti-biotics either. I pretty much agree with what she wrote as my own poking about into the subject has led me to the same conclusion. It doesn't look like she is telling folks to stop using them, just to be aware that they aren't…

Generally I don't get involved in spats but I would have thought that we are all on these forums to support and encourage each other. There is always a nice way to say something and it doesn't hurt to use freindly language whilst still being truthful, just my opinion. :) I have big muscly calves and for the longest time I…

So just use it for specific exercise sessions and ignore it the rest of the time, check! Thanks folks :)

Erm, I'm from Sweden and I bought the watch from Jula. It has an a timer function, you set the clock ticking, then stop the clock and check your heart rate, then it calculates what calories you burned assuming your heart rate was constant the whole time. Yes I see the flaw sooooo.... I left it recording for 3 days and…

Just got home from a Zumba session and I burned 602 in an hour (tracked on a watch like the poster above me).

Hey Ho, me and the hubby are both 27 and we have three kids (1 together 2 from my 1st marriage). As if being a teenage mum (had oldest when I was 17) and a young wife wasn't isolating enough, I got divorced, remarried and emigrated to Sweden. Could I possibly have made it less likely to find some similar people? :D I know…

I'm orginally from Glasgow but now live in southern Sweden and am seriously missing Scottish folk! Brand spanking new here btw
