I started on May 16 and I'm looking to lose close to 40 kg. I've lost 3 kg, so I think so far so good.

Diet pop has a bunch of stuff in it that's not good for you. That's not to say it's the worst thing you can put into your body, but it's also not the best, if you're looking to get healthy. It's clearly a habit for you, so I wouldn't recommend going cold turkey. In fact, I don't think you really need to quit at all. But I…

A lot of it is mental, I think, especially if you, like me, have formed bad habits due to mental or emotional reasons. I try to push any negative thoughts surrounding anything I'm doing regarding weight out of my head. Things like "I don't want to," "I don't feel like it," "But I hate exercise," "I can't do it," completely…

Fat = poor health; thin = good health. Risks, schmisks. You can't tell how healthy someone is just by looking at them. These are all good points and good posts. I think that one of the most important things is "everything in moderation." If you eat too much fat, it's not good for you. If you eat too much sugar, it's not…

Thank you! This post was very informative and helpful! I think I'll stick with my cycling, then, since I enjoy it pretty well. Thanks, again!

I only have an exercise bike and I can't afford a gym membership. If possible, I'd like to stay in my house. Being able to watch a YouTube playlist has made wanting to work out a lot easier. Does anyone have any suggestions for a different activity? Also, I do much better with routine. If I alternate every other day,…

I'll admit, in those 2 weeks, I've felt weakness in the muscles I've worked and have wondered if it might not be the best idea to continue with the weight lifting for that day. Nevertheless, I did it. On days when I think I might need to take a break from the weight lifting, should I replace that time with some cardio?…

If I really need a pop fix, I always drink diet pop. I try not to drink it too much because I feel I've gotten too dependent on it, and diet pop tends to have a lot of sodium, but if I really need specifically pop, the occasional diet pop is better than regular, at least if we're talking calories. In fact, this is probably…

I think as long as you're eating enough calories for the day and you don't feel weak or tired without those extra 500sih calories, I don't see why you should stuff yourself just to come up to a certain goal. I'd be aware of those things, though. If you feel overly tired or have headaches, it might be your body's way of…

Sure! I'm looking to lose around 35 kg.

I joined a while ago and I had some success. I lost about 10 of my 30-something kilo goal. Unfortunately, due to life circumstances, I became depressed and gained it all back. I'm not willing to step on a scale right now, but I started, again, a few days ago. I've tried a few times to start again to little success. I'm…

As said above, it's difficult to notice small changes in yourself. I would start taking measurements of parts of your body, maybe every two weeks or every month. What your mind sees can be subjective. Measurements are completely objective evidence of your weight loss. I also agree with the above post of taking monthly…

I was incredibly annoyed at the number of responses that were of the nature of, "Aw, hurt feelings? Grow up," or "This has nothing to do with people who are fat." Incidentally, mostly from people who were quite skinny and seemed never to be all that overweight. About hurt feelings, seriously? Unless someone's done…

No, I really thought you looked like a Brian, regardless of the show. Judging by your reaction, I'm assuming that's not it, so I'm gonna guess my second choice: Dale.

Me? Ha. On a scale of cinnamon to ghost chili, I'm about a potato. What's your favorite TV show?

I can't speak for other Asian countries, but I live in Japan. The Japanese lead very active lifestyles. Often, they bike where they need to go, there are a ton of stairs and overall, exercise is more of a norm than in America. (Sorry, I can only really speak for Japan and America.) As a result, it seems like they have a…

Agh, ninja'd... No, I didn't. I think I got a couple D's, but they were in subjects I couldn't have given a crap about, so I don't really care. What's your favorite kind of pizza?

Yes. You got it. That's my name >.> /sarcasm I'm gonna go for the obvious and guess Dan.
