  • I checked the model last night and it's F11F. It's customized with my stats. I usually don't go above 185 without losing my breath but I didn't realize the amount of effort I was putting into moving the stroller since I was also busy with being alert of the snow, ice and the people/vehicles around us. I'll try the self…
  • I seriously don't remember the model but will check tonight. It does have a self test mode and about 6-7 years old. The chest part is two pieces, fabric strap and electronic part which has its own batteries. I also have a timex that came with a machine but it usually overestimates my burn compared to the polar. My husband…
  • I'm asking this because I had the instinct that I needed to eat significantly more that day but couldn't bring myself to. I had a protein loaded dinner though. I also had a double dose of my protein shake upon arriving home. The whole course except inside the mall is around 4-5miles. Half is paved, half isn't.
  • I'm checking it out now. Thanks! I've heard about Tabata for the first time on this thread and it was interesting to read the science behind it. It's nice to hear TurboFire is enjoyable too.
  • So far my favorite is Vega Protein Smoothie Vanilla. Chocolate wasn't bad either. They were on sale at Whole Foods. Amazing Meal tasted awful and Garden of Life Raw protein is too gritty. I'm not sure if I got a faulty batch but it's so gritty that I'm having hard time comfortably swallowing it. Blech! I tried adding it to…
  • I'll check hemp seeds out. Thanks!
  • Yes, naturally occurring carbs are my problem, too. I eat beans and legumes but they're loaded with carbs. I don't like eating canned salmon but it's convenient and I don't like baked fish. In an ideal world, I'd skip fish altogether. LOL. Eating organic chicken everyday is expensive too. So do protein powders but I try to…
  • I definitely have more energy. I'm cranky when I'm hungry but feeling guilty and weak when eating was even worse. My doctors always prescribed full panels except the rheumatologist but none paid attention to FT3s and FT4s since they seem to be in the range. I'll check the video hopefully at night. I don't think dairy is…
  • Bookmarking Fitness Blender. Thanks!
  • Burpee challenge sounds, well, challenging. LOL. I'll give it a shot. My kids and husband can laugh at me as much as they want LOL.
  • I might sell my my Insanity DVDs and check out TurboFire on ebay. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • DH and I started slowly saving some money here and there over the years and indulged ourselves with workout equipment. We are kind of a practical couple :D Our rowing machine was a valentine's day gift for both of us. We got the arc trainer used (it ws in good working condition but started having problems after a year) and…
  • Thanks for the responses! Jordymils, Unfortunately, I can't go outside as it is -8F atm. And it really won't be safe to run/jog for a few more months until snow goes away. We usually get snow well into April and sometimes May. But we usually have breaks from the snow in between. :) I have a stationary bike, an arc trainer…
  • I've realized it what you said about range too. I always thought, as long as you're within the range you're good to go. Apparently, that's not true for many people. I have overcome the lack of energy after starting on synthroid but never paid good attention to my free T3s and free T4s. I'm a part of an online thyroid…
  • Honestly, now I'm OK with not losing much as long as I see some progress with getting leaner. I was unaware of the fact that I was starving my body last time I posted. But then again, I was always told that unless you go below 1200, you should lose. The less the better. I enjoy exercising and now looking for ways to get…
  • As another update: I checked my body fat percentage which I was delaying since I thought since I got fatter, it had to go up. It's not a great comparison but before kids and hypothyroidism diagnosis, it was %30.something. Now, I'm at %25-26. But it was one of the handheld devices which may not be good for estimating fat…
  • I was slowly typing while feeding my preschooler. He got too frustrated that his chilli and rice got spilled on his tshirt and wanted me to spoonfeed him for this once.
  • Now the update: I've had another lab done to check my thyroid. Even though, I'm considered in optimal range for TSH (around but slightly higher than 1), a friend told me that my Free T3s and FT4 are both too low in the range. I'll see my endo again to ask a T3 supplement. I also increased my net calories to 1800 and…
  • As far as remember, one can only change the fat type of the breastmilk, like if you eat more omega rich fat, then the BM becomes omega rich. It decreases my supply though. But I'm not concerned about it at this point. I'll probably let him nurse as much as he wants until he's 2 and try to wean after that if he seems ready.
  • For the nth time, I don't have an infant and it doesn't rely on my breastmilk for food anymore. He nurses here and there for comfort, which I'm OK with but again, he's 19months old who eats several meals and snack throughout the day. Still grateful for the concern though. ;)
  • Nadoriel, check this one out http://chriskresser.com/the-gluten-thyroid-connection It talks about why gluten free diet might be a good choice for people with AITDs. And it link several articles. The problem isn't a true allergy like celiac disease but the fact that the protein part of gluten closesly resembles thyroid and…
  • Google gluten and hashimoto's. There are several very good articles that pop higher in the list. If you don't have autoimmune hypothyroidism, gluten may not be an issue for you but for people with hashimoto's, gluten increases the antibody count which then inflates body's immune response to thyroid. My levels are seemingly…
  • It feels like I'm constantly eating protein rich foods. LOL. I have 975 cals left for today and 57 grams of protein.
  • I can have nuts but can't have fava beans due to hypoglycemia but I can have many other beans. I had homemade navy beans yesterday which was onions, tomato paste, sweet peppers and navy beans cooked together. It provided 45grams of protein but for almost 800 calories. I eat peanut and cashew butter slathered on a banana…
  • Dairy (casein) products like yogurt and soy products like tofu are out due to my autoimmune issues. Eggs might be out soon too, if cutting gluten, dairy and soy won't be enough. I bought several trial size vegan protein powders but they don't have more than 10grams per serving. I ate some beans, ground meat and eggs today…
  • I realized yesterday that my fitbit one under-counts my steps when the battery is low. Congrats on the step count!
  • Fitbit also estimates gait so if you walk the same amount of steps in less time, it'll estimate more burned calories than if you walk more leisurely and take your time. Makes sense? I have a Fitbit one and heard that flex overestimates the steps of you move your hands a lot. That could be the problem too if the same amount…
  • I'll also be careful about my water intake. I have a humongous Klean Kanteen, 64 oz I think. I usually finish one and refill midday but I'll put it somewhere else to prevent anyone else helping themselves.
  • So here's my plan: 1. I'll try to be extra careful with measuring/weighing the food and log in that way. 2. Will take levothyroxine an hour before breakfast with a full glass of water instead of just a sip and 45 mins. 3. Will up my calories to 1700 given the OK of the nutritionist 4. Will continue with exercise, trying to…
  • I'm not counting bfing calories. I never thought I should since YDS doesn't rely on me for much nutrition anymore. I probably don't get enough sleep, too. I go to bed around 1-2am and wake up around 7am. I'm working from home and otherwise, I can't keep up with work. Although, we recently hired a nanny to take care of the…
