  • I put all my ab workouts under sit ups, vigourous (for the right amount of time) it's a close enough estimate for me, and I'd rather have it lower than what I actually burned, than higher and eating back more calories.
  • Now that I am googling, it looks like I am wrong, and that's outdated info. However, if your heart is up that high, it's not good. I do see alot of links to thyroid problems, so maybe it wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor? I do know that the guidelines for heartrates do say to keep it below 170.
  • Mine I have a very hard time keeping under 175. if you're 20-30 it shouldn't be higher than 160-165 in a workout. 200 is cardiac arrest, so you need to be careful and slow down. Start by going slower and building endurance, that's what I had to do.
  • just keep trying, its so hard to gain weight the healthy way. I'm stuck at 97-98 pounds but there's no point in upping my calorie intake goal, I just can't possibly eat any more anyway, Most days I don't even go near 1300. I've swapped out snacks for protein bars, added breakfast (I usually eat nothing) added mindless…
  • I love pop songs to workout to as well! lately Grenade Like a G 6 pretty much anything by rihanna also 80's pop is fun!
  • I got one this week that said "Now is the time to enhance your female attributes" I was like "SEE HUSBAND, even FATE wants me to get a boob job!" I usually get my inspiration from great song lyrics
  • my thighs have toned up alot. For the last month I've been doing 1) running on the treadmill (3 miles every two days at 5.0mph) 2) jump squats (start small, the first time I did 25 and couldn't walk down the stairs for a week) You could also do squats holding weights. Lunges! 3) the thigh machines at the gym, there's three…
  • no, I'm not hungry all the time. Sometimes I only eat 600 cals on the "slow" (bad) days, most days I hover between 1000-1200. I'm here to try and get the enough cals, It's hard for me sometimes. I think your stomach gets used to having less food. Try making choices that fill you up more. Like instead of having chips or…
  • it's true! I live by my measuring tape :)
  • AH! mine did that to me, It confused me for a while, until my husband figured it out. It was because if one of the feet were sitting in a spot on the grout (not a level surface) it would fluctuate by about 2 pounds! now I still do it 2-3 times. I weigh myself in the morning, empty stomach, after using the bathroom. After…
  • ah thanks girls, you have kicked my *kitten* in gear! I'm not going to go to the gym (although I kind of want to, I'm pretty sore from yesterday's workout) But I will pick up that wiimote in a few minutes, and have a banana with breakfast! And I WILL make it to the gym tomorrow!:drinker: Thanks for the ideas!!
  • ouch. I'm 5'4 (ish) and a size 0 and I don't consider me to be unhealthy skinny... for someone 5'8 I would say: 16+ - voluptuous 11-14 -curvy 7-11 - fit <7 - slim :flowerforyou: no need for negative language, we're all different sizes and different people, that's what makes it interesting :drinker:
  • a lot of people add things in to their workouts that I consider more like every day activities and less like exercise. The thing is, the post only pics one of the activities you log at the same time to advertise right? anyway, I know how hard I worked. If something I log seems way to high or low, I adjust based on what I…
  • I think you should go see your doctor! If not much has changed it could be a thyroid issue or hormone problem. Good luck with everything!
  • Welcome! I'm so sorry for your health issue, but MFP is great for tracking sodium. More people need to talk about sodium!! It's a huge issue!
  • I would build the recycling centre my city seems so reluctant to approve!!! They literally put our recycling in the dump, because it's cheaper than shipping it to the recycling centre in the big city. And then they have the audacity to 'promote' recycling by only collecting garbage once every two weeks, and charging 150$ a…
  • I was the same (and still have days when I'm like 900 under because of exercise!) I was adjusting to being a vegetarian and it's difficult sometimes! However, I am finding it easier to get closer. I add in healthy fats, (avacado, nuts, peanutbutter, fish) protien powder, protien bars. I think once your body adjusts to the…
  • I stay away because after logging some of the fast food fixes I used to have, and realizing how bad they were for me (mostly sodium) I just can't be responsible and go there. I'd rather save the calories for more food, and feel better too. I also leave my debit card at home. The only time I buy coffee anymore is when I can…
  • I'm 5'3 & 3/4", weighing in at 97.6 last week. I'm here to gain muscle and make sure as a vegetarian that I track things like protien, calcium, sodium, etc. I've carved alot of inches but been roughly maintaining weight (hovering between 97 and 98) since joining mfp a month ago :) I'm 24 and have two children, 5 and 8…
  • I'm trying to gain muscle! sending you a friend request!
  • spaghetti and meatballs ( I make the meatballs and warm up just sauce for me) being a vegetarian I am used to making two meals except for the nights when DH is out of town, or he will concede to eating fish. We have alot of salmon, I make veggies and he chokes them down lol. Casseroles are another good option. There's one…
  • :frown: don't get frusterated!! The only reason I know is because I watch alot of weightloss reality shows (last ten pounds bootcamp is my fave!) and that's where they measure. Also I do alot of online shopping, so they have the chart of where you measure for the clothes as well. As long as youre measuring the same place,…
  • I think it is refering to the booty. I always measure right around the middle of my butt cheeks, with my feet together. also waist is the teeniest part under your rib cage, and you're supposed to hold the measuring tape as tight as you can without squishing. You can add measurements to your diary, what you want to track. I…
  • hi! my aunt and uncle live in Whitehorse! welcome to MFP! :)
  • of course you could! Just start walking. I have a friend that watched what he ate (really closely) and started walking to and from work, and everywhere else he could. He would average about 2-3 hours walking a day. He lost over 100 pounds in six months. It's not about how active you are its about the fact that you are…
  • I live in Saskatchewan. right now, there's about 3 feet of snow on the ground, and it's averaging -30 C with windchill. the things that helped me most were 1) signing up for a class, that way I have to be there 2) getting a gym buddy 3) getting super cute workout clothes (so I want to show them off  ) 4) I got a gym…
  • oh that's so MEAN!
  • I haven't read all six pages, but I'd like to add 'unthawed' (you can't unthaw something, that would be freezing it again) or 'you're so skinny you must be anorexic" :explode: or 'take AN easy' an easy? really? is that some kind of pill? my husband says this and it drives me i-n-s-a-n-e!
  • I think it depends on your skin's texture and genetic makeup, and also on alot of factors like diet, water intake, and how fast you lose the weight. of you're not showing loose skin by 70 pounds lost, I think you're ok, but if your worried about it, I currently use nivea my sillouhette gel (for skin tightening) and I have…
  • yup. I love simply steam frozen veggies, namely the brussel sprouts and the garden vegetable medley. They are super fast and I eat them over brown rice with maybe a little cheese for protien. I started recording my sodium last week. After I went grocery shopping and bought like 20 of them. There's 860mgs in the brussel…
