  • The scale may say you've gained weight for many reasons. It could be fluid retention. If you're not...uh..regular, well that may play a factor too. In some scenarios, perhaps you're eating too many calories -- but I really don't think that's the case here. Give it a few weeks, sometimes our bodies are just weird that way.
  • nvm, checked potassium and iron with MFP and sometimes I almost get enough iron, but my potassium is like always chronically low. wow! :( it looks like sweet potatoes and lentils might carry more potassium though? think i'll try to eat that more often.
  • Sorry, but if anyone wants to start crap and claim that I just don't want to eat my veggies, do yourself a favor and leave. I used to be a vegetarian but had to quit because I became allergic to all of the foods I ate. I will not engage in a debate over this because frankly, it's stupid and doesn't have to deal with the…
  • I spoke too soon because I lost a few pounds this morning, so I actually lost 4lbs this week. Maybe my diet intake is too low. I barely exercise, I'm currently trying to figure out what I can do because my knee is messed up - before that I used to be a weightlifter.
  • That's because I don't exercise much, the most I do is walk. My maintenance calories have this already factored in
  • That's because I'm allergic to most of them.
  • Ab definition is purely the result of having low body fat (and you build muscle, which creates the definition, with ab exercises obviously). So if you don't want it...just don't let your body fat dip low. Slap some sense into your husband though - since when is it a bad thing to see a woman in shape...
  • This sounds like classic bulimia. The earlier you can stop it, the better because an eating disorder is really nothing you want to deal with. I say this as someone who has spent the last 6 years recovering from it. I recommend stopping right now and speaking to someone about it, because this is not normal behavior :(
  • I maintain on 2500-2600 calories. I don't really consider it high though because my female friend eats up to 3500 cals a day while dieting lol. I rarely work out but I'm planning to get back to it, my knee is injured so I've been out of business for a while.
  • Scales are notoriously inaccurate and shouldn't be used to measure your body fat. DEXA scans are most accurate, but for a ballpark range you can opt for calipers since DEXA scans don't run cheap. 14% is very low; if you truly are that low you should really work on eating more (think of it as a mini-bulk) because that's…
  • Little tip...if possible don't eat under your BMR. Your BMR is the amount of calories you need just for your body to function (ie if you're comatose). It will make your metabolism unhappy if you do. All you need is a calorie deficit to lose weight. Of course it would be healthier to also work out, but if you can't, oh well.
  • I'm finishing up AC3. I finished all side quests, all I need to do now is level up all of my recruits and redo some missions to get 100% synch.
  • There is never enough cranberry sawce. And if you fill your entire plate with it people will give you the stankeye...#firstworldproblems Oh well, I am making nutella cheesecake covered in reese's cups to make up for it.
  • No, eating calories over your maintenance level = weight gain (in the form of fat). You might just be bloated. 1200 is very low.
  • haha...i just turned 26.
  • I've never noticed people who haven't shaved, but then again most women probably don't have leg hair like mine. Seriously it's like a forest down there, I don't even know why I'm this hairy! My mom and dad barely have any body hair! I wear long pants though so it's all good...
  • It is perfectly fine, unless eating too much protein is causing you to not get enough fat or carbs. If you're having trouble just consciously add more fat or carb foods into your diet in place of protein. I have a horrible time meeting my fat intake so I eat a can of black olives every day so I hit it. Just being a little…
  • It happens. Don't feel down, just think of it as an extended break :) Now it's time to get back to action.
  • The only disagreements I've seen have been towards those who spout pseudoscience or make ridiculous claims/go on equally as ridiculous diets. This should absolutely be challenged because it misleads people into making bad and sometimes dangerous choices. If people cannot handle their opinions being challenged, especially…
  • It's a useless supplement, anything you will experience will be a placebo effect. Dr. Oz himself has a horrible history when it comes to diet/nutrition. Rule of thumb, if it's legal to take, it's probably not an effective diet aid ;)
  • Doesn't really make a difference, men ignore me no matter how much I weigh lol
  • Here's the real scoop, the concoction is extremely low in calories, so of course you're going to shed a lot of weight. Expect to also poop a lot. Expect to also feel what I call a "starvation high"...a lot of people like to say it's the toxins flushing right now, but you're just feeling a bit woozy from not eating.…
  • My Mp3 player contains nothing but metal. Mostly thrash and power metal. Nothing motivates me more than hearing a song about going to battle like a true viking hurr hurr
  • sapphireswati....27-28?
  • I game a lot too. I'm actually getting DDR again (played it a lot in 2008) because I don't feel like doing cardio outside right now lol. Right now I'm trying to get 100% synch in Assassin's Creed 3.
  • Excellent taste. My favorites...Yngwie Malmsteen (named my cat after him lolol), Michael Angelo Batio, Luca Turilli, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, etc.
  • I still have mine, even the veil. Can't bear to get rid of it because it's really the only wedding-related thing I have left -- someone stole my wedding band/engagement ring a year ago :(
  • Macros matter more than what you're actually eating. Also, to gain muscle you have to bulk (eat in a surplus, lift heavy). I mainly eat a lot of chicken and veggies which I toss in curries or stir fries. Lazy cooking for the win :P
  • No such thing, but I like to eat something high in fat (like olives) if I need to stay full for a couple of hours.
