  • Hey Steel! I got wrapped up in mommy world and felt I lost track of the thread! I went to Las Vegas for 5 days last month. Didn't workout except for lots of walking and one hike (did get food poisoning one day...blech) and didn't log much. Did what I could...but certainly was at TDEE if not more with Vegas food. I have…
  • norcal we had very similar experiences I think. I would LOVE to be around 130-140. It seems actually impossible at this stage. I feel like short of being unhealthy I can't do any more. It makes me feel very powerless. If I could hold back on the cardio I would...but it's my job. LOL. I did hot yoga last night for some me…
  • ALSO wanted to add....last year I got a Bodymedia and it had me averaging with over a months worth of data 3000K a day. I did the EM2WL thing while doing this and put on 11 pounds in 7 weeks. (Eating around 2500 a day). So I bailed. I did have a HRM which died, and last week started using a Fitbit. I have my calories set…
  • I think I love you.
  • WHAT THE DEUCE??? WHERE IS THIS FINE SPECIMEN?
  • Just gotta throw something in. CHECK THE MACROS FOLKS. Just because it's frozen yogurt...it can have just as many calories, carbs and sugars than ice cream. Sometimes even more. I've seen more overweight people think it's fine to splurge on froyo because it's "yogurt" and "healthy" it's basically ice cream. Just saying.…
  • Actually I think there is some science behind it. There is a weight our bodies become comfortable with and/or if we were overweight for a long time there is a weight our body wants to get back to. It's more of a fight than someone who was always thin. (This may not be 100% accurate I just remember seeing a doc on it) I…
  • Heybales is (as usual) right. No matter how much we weight or portion out our food etc/ calculate our burn....it's all just an estimate. When your deficit is THAT tiny....who knows if you are actually hitting it. Take it down a hundred or so and make the margin of error a little more and see if that helps. :-)
  • Some of that seems like B.S. BUT we have a tendency here to listen to all the folks on MFP and ignore advice we get from actual professionals. Briko was right. Points of view here become gospel, even when they are false. I'd maybe do what she told you for a couple weeks and see where it takes you. :-)
  • I am doing the workout with them yes (Les Mills) so I'm drenched at the end. Not working out on own since I'm teaching so much. should I be?
  • You bet. Fitness instructor here. 7-9+ classes a week so I can't switch it up too much as it's a structured work/workout schedule. I can't seem to drop below 148-150 no matter how much I watch diet/calories. If I go up even past 1700 or so I start to gain...considering my workout schedule this seems insane. Any ideas?…
  • Man it's going to be a BUMMER when you guys gain all the weight back. And you will. You will. :frown:
  • Hey Melissa! 90% of the time I have more protein than carbs. My diary is open! :-)
  • I used to think that. I have a wide rib cage and I wear a size 10 shoe. I also have very broad shoulders. Then I lost weight. Still have huge feet...but now I'm a 4/6. DEBUNKED!
  • WHY HAVE I NOT THOUGHT OF THIS??? I have tried BOTH PB ones...and they are both awesome. Smores always takes me back to childhood, and the red velvet are off the chain. Now I need to do this...damn your eyes!!
  • All I know is what I have experienced. I am a group fitness instructor, so I am crazy active. Teach 9+ classes a week and I have two little boys. No matter WHAT I did, I could not look the way I wanted. Losing weight was next to impossible. Couldn't understand why. Now I'm about 80/20 and I don't pay much attention to…
  • So happy for you! Such a great feeling. I remember rolling into my 12's too. Awesome!!
  • I totally agree with the bars. When I did Adkins back in the day, the Adkins brand goodies killed me every time. Knock those out and let us know if you see a difference!
  • Honey, we are a very supportive group of people here...so I don't want to be UNsupportive...but any "dr" who has you on the HCG diet is no doctor I would go to. It is very, very dangerous. Search for HCG on this forum and you will see that pretty much everyone that has done it gains the weight back...and more...and can't…

  • THIS^^^ It is true that it can all be fit in. I also love Arctic Zero for quantity. LOL. A whole pint is 150 calories, and sometimes I just wanna tuck in. ;-)
  • Just wanted to say hi to the New Zealanders! I'm a Les Mills instructor and I am DYING to get to NZ someday. It just looks stunning. Lucky dogs. :-)
  • I think key for me will be sticking to not drinking cocktails. I'm very carb sensitive...and alcohol makes me gain like CRAZY. I don't know why. diet coke and rum may have to be my staple. Any other low carb drinks ya'll like? I don't like drinks with tonic...because they taste like alcohol.
  • Good!! I'm hoping for lots of walking. We are staying at the Cosmopolitan and they even have fitness classes....granted if I'm sleeping til 10am...LOL! We are going to Mt. Zion for a massive day hike one day...we will probably undo it at dinner time...but it can't hurt. LOL! We are going to ONE buffet. Bechamel I think…
  • TRUTH!! The Smores ones take me back to childhood. I HAVE to take a nibble off of my kids. It's practically a law. :-P
  • Honey, I feel for you. It's like the food is talking to you. I get that. Great advice on bringing your own snacks. Maybe get some calorie free flavoring to put in water so it tastes like "something". Maybe post some inspirational pictures or quotes on your wall. Or even just the letters WIWM "What I Want More..."…
  • You can do it! I discovered eating right/exercising after my two kids. I was almost 250 pounds at 40 weeks with my first. Hovered around 200 forever after both kids. That person is dead and gone. It is totally possible. you are already way ahead by being aware of this while being pregnant. I wish I had been. I'm now…
  • If you hate them, you probably need to do them. LOL! That's usually the case! :-) It just takes practice. You do two. Then you grit your teeth the next day and do three...and so on and so on. Do you mean on your toes? What other option is there before knees?
