Shock Absorber and Enell are supposed to be fantastic. I just got a Moving Comfort that is designed for high impact and was happy with it yesterday. I started out with 38DD, they are 36D now, so I still need the support but I am becoming less full-busted!

I have a FitBit and love it. The only thing it isn't great for tracking are activities that don't involve a lot of linear movement, like weights, yoga, some DVD stuff, etc. But I just got a HRM for that, so I'm all set there!

I drink and have been losing weight just fine. Some weeks as much as 2lbs...and I am eating 2200 calories a day, on average. 20% protein, 30% fat, 50% carbs. So yeah.

I have only taken it for anxiety, so this probably isn't that helpful, but I do think I would have been able to go to sleep if I had taken it at bedtime. I have a tough time falling asleep too and medications like ambien and soma haven't worked for me in the past. Do you know if there is a reason he prescribed that vs.…

And to add to that - make sure you get enough protein and fiber, it will help keep you fuller, longer.

Reset your goal to 1lb/week and eat the extra 300-400 or so calories that MFP will give you. Think of it as a lifestyle change, not a diet - can you live with 1200 calories/day for the rest of your life? Also, work out and eat the extra calories you get from that.

I like reds too, and I drink probably 3-5 glasses a week. Sometimes more (like this Saturday, I had a total cheat day and drank a looooot of wine), sometimes less. If I don't have wine, I drink vodka. I usually have a glass after work 3 nights a week, and they are more like a glass and a half. I have been losing, but I…

I would call you moderately active. Are you doing all cardio, or strength training as well? (Forgive me if I missed that in one of your other posts.) If you're lifting weights then you definitely want to make sure you're fueling your body, so I think keeping it at the active setting is probably fine. Mine is set to active,…

I am no athlete and I'm definitely not sedentary! I am set for the active setting - I take about 100,000 steps per week and exercise 4x a week. What makes you think the OP is not as active as she is saying?

Actually, wine is not very high in sugar by volume. I've looked into this before, for my own curiosity, and came across this well-written wine blog: http://www.elementarywine.com/. In one post, they explain how wines are classified based on their sugar content: dry wines as having less than 4g/L, medium-dry as 4-12g/L,…

I agree, it sounds like a normal weight fluctuation to me. I went all out on St Patrick's Day, and had a lot of sodium that Monday. On Tuesday I was up 6lbs from my weigh-in, 4 days earlier. By Friday it was back under another 0.4lbs from the week before. It can be too much sodium, hormonal fluctuations (TOM and…

My mom took a similar approach, though I was older (17) when she put me on weight watchers. I was 5'9.5" and 160lbs, not even near overweight. She had been harping on me about my weight since puberty...from the time I was 5'8" and 130lbs!!! Her perception of overweight was way off; she was worried about how I would weigh…

I completely agree.

Exactly this.

I count it all, partially for the calories, partially for the macros, and partially for the micros (example - mixed greens are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, and a good source of iron as well).

I like it for the creamy texture and higher protein. I buy plain, and I love it with some honey drizzled in and raw almonds! Yum! I also use it to substitute for sour cream. My kids don't even taste the difference. I also use it in smoothies.

If I've been awake without nighttime sleep, then I log it for that day. With the exception of once or twice when I was up very late and made myself an omelet at 4AM.

It kills me too!!! I find it really insulting that people say if you eat healthy, then you can eat a VLCD and feel satisfied because of sheer volume. As if those of us who eat 2000+ a day must be filling it with crap. I'm just over 1600 so far today, and my meals were: a homemade strawberry and banana almond milk smoothie…

My cousin is an internship away from being an RD (registered dietician - an actual certified, standard-meeting designation...anybody can take a certain number of credits and call themselves a "nutritionist" without having to actually be licensed) and the information she has given me, along with the help of her boss (she…

Take a course in mammalian physiology and it will tell you the same thing psulemon is saying. There is actual science behind this - not just "bro-science." [/quote]

That's one of the stupidest things I've heard on here yet, lol. If they went out and ran 4 miles at 6 minutes a mile, they'd only be going for 24 minutes...but then they wouldn't log it as exercise? Pfffft. I call bulls*** on them! Unfriend them. Help keep your blood pressure nice and low!

I think the point here is if the author is completely wrong on a major point he is making - that vits A and D only come from animal fat, which is incredibly untrue - then how credible is the "article" as a whole. Furthermore, why do you give a **** if someone eats veg/vegan?
-
I agree to give it a few weeks - you may gain a little bit at first, or stall out, but give it a month and it should come off and then some as your body adjusts. Really, what's a couple of pounds up in the grand scheme of things?
-
I have lost almost 20lbs so far (15lbs in 3 months) eating 1800-2300 a day! It's working for me!
-
Did it go away yet? Mine is pretty regular since having had kids (was all over the place before them, PCOS), but every so often, I think it's over and then get a resurgence after a day or so of not much happening. Then it finally goes away.

I was going to ask how old you are - spotting is normal in perimenopause. But I wouldn't think that's the cause at 34/35! Maybe if you were 10 years older...otherwise I would guess it's some sort of random cycle oddity. Did you do any exercise that was more strenuous than usual? Kind of a personal question - but is there…

Are food service jobs not acceptable jobs if they pay the bills? My husband has a "real" job, I wait tables. I have a degree and he does not. I make twice as much money as he does. So where is the problem with my job, by your definition?

I am 5'9.5", eating about 2200/day on average, netting around 1800 on average. I have been losing nicely since I increased from 1800 gross/1600 net average. I also increased my activity level.

I've been married for 6 years, together for 8. We have gone through tough times. I was seriously questioning the future of our relationship about 6 months ago. We have both put in work, and in all honesty, I am incredibly happy with that one issue aside. Unfortunately, it's a big issue (no, it has nothing to do with…
