I think my mom, at 47, has an easier time keeping up with my kids physically than I do! Of course I power through anyway, but she wants to take a trip to Disney at some point...I will be happy to be on the go all day, but when we get back to our hotel she will just be tired and I'll be wrecked!

I have rheumatoid arthritis. When a joint hurts, I rest it. I was attempting push ups the other day and my wrists were SCREAMING, so I stopped. If I'm having trouble with my knees, I avoid things like squats. If my shoulders are killing me then I'm not going to do anything to aggravate it. I do feel less stiffness when I…

Emergen-C, the B vitamin boost helps me. But you aren't supposed to have more than 2 a day. I do drink a good amount of coffee too.

That's me!!! Even when my husband was in Iraq and I was busting my *kitten*, getting in shape and losing weight, I would go through a 3lbs bag of them in a week. I was living in my parents' house and would hide them under my bed.

I'm Megan, I'm 28, and I have RA, chronic back pain, and bursitis in my left hip. I was diagnosed with RA in July 2010, but have had symptoms for many years. I've been married for 6 years and we have two daughters who are 5 and 2.5. I currently work in a restaurant, which doesn't help my symptoms or my pain level, but it's…

If you have cable, FIOS, etc., you can usually get yoga on sportskool under free on demand. I have done that and really enjoyed it. I love love love to run, but I do find that my knees will bother me afterward - they normally don't bother me - and I get really bad shin and calf pain, so that is pretty much out for a…

I also wonder how many people who achieve total remission via a GF diet are seronegative for RA, or which markers they have that are positive. My anti-CCPs are very high (>250) and suggest that I will never achieve remission, but what about someone who has joint swelling, pain, stiffness, elevated ESR and CRP, maybe a…

I get skeptical when people say their RA was cured by going GF...the people I have met who have told me that also admit that they have not seen their rheumy in X amount of time, do not get their labs done, etc. So I feel like for some - not all, but some - it is a bury-your-head, out-of-sight, out-of-mind kind of thing. I…

I don't mind some criticism. The only thing I might have a tough time with is the fact that I have been making most things from scratch. Something like the 2tbsp of honey mustard and sweet potato fries I had for dinner might look like a load of processed crap to somebody, when I actually peeled, sliced, and baked the fries…

I made some blueberry oat bars that are really good, 1/12 of the pan (about 2"x4" bar) is 256 calories, but half a serving is often plenty to satisfy my craving. I tweaked a recipe I found by replacing half the flour with almond meal, and cutting the sugar in half. Next time I make them I will probably use a quarter of the…

Fiber and protein together! A few stalks of celery with a tablespoon or two of peanut butter, an apple with 1/4c raw almonds or cashews, 1/4c homemade egg salad with a slice of sprouted wheat bread, etc.

I have a 2.5 year old and 5 year old at home, I am home with the little one all day and depending on the day, I can either be on my feet all day or have a quiet, restful day. I work as a waitress 36 hours a week at night, and so I put "lightly active" even though it recommends "active" for waiting tables. I just log in…

Yes, you do! In the food database there are several entries for breastfeeding mothers. One in particular says, "Breastfeeding - exclusively" and gives you an extra 500 calories a day, which is the generally recommended amount. You can also calculate it by ounce, but that is more useful for pumping than for nursing.

They are referring to eating back to your net calorie goal for the day. You don't have to eat all the calories back if you just aren't hungry, but try to eat back at least half.

31cal if you use the air popper! Oil popped on the stove is 55cal/cup, still not bad. I use chili powder or white cheddar favoring to give it some flavor - sprinkle some in with the oil.

5'10, goal is 165lbs. I'll worry about body composition once I get some of this weight off.

Popcorn is a great late-night munchie, if you cook it yourself and don't add the butter! If you have an air-popper, even better. Or go out and get one of you can. 1c is 31 calories!

DM doesn't seem to account for speed at all in their calculations. I walked yesterday at about 3.6mph for 49 minutes, then at about 3mph for 10 minutes - so 3.5 miles total. When I plugged it into DM, before I changed it from running to walking, it said 800+ calories burned! Sure, if I ran for an hour at 8 or 9mph, but not…

I wish we could "like" posts here. I'm with everyone else - you are just as guilty as he. You continued the relationship after knowing he was in one with someone else, after he got married, etc. He is just playing you, and you're willingly going along with it. Cut off all contact and be done with him. Btw, if he chooses to…

I don't really want unsolicited advice on what I'm eating, so I have it set to friends for now. I have RA and am sick and tired of people saying, "Ohhhhh, eat gluten-free, that's what I did and my RA is gone now," or other such nonsense. It is really, really annoying.

Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? They have these chocolate-covered frozen banana slices that are to die for. 4 of them are 130 calories, and I think there are 5 servings in the box.

Mine was all 6 Star Wars movies! If I had to watch all 10 Star Treks I think I would have kept postponing the wedding, lol.
-
I like Raw Revolution bars, but they're not that high in protein. They're good for an on-the-go snack or as a treat though.
-
I'm just about 5'10 and I could wear a 12 at about 170lbs.

I have quite a few. :embarassed: Swedish Fish, marzipan, Doritos (though I NEVER buy them), Ben & Jerry's, gourmet burgers, popcorn...those are the ones that come to mind right now.

I'm going to have a cup of tea and then go to bed!

I had a glass of wine, and now I want to eat. That's probably why tonight! But I swear, every night it's like a compulsion!

I have 55 cals left for the day. I don't know if I should eat an apple, or just let it go. Sigh.

Hi Holly, I messaged you as well! I am another survivor of pregnancy loss, I have two daughters and have had 5 miscarriages (4 before my first daughter, then one between kids). I just wanted to say that you can take a few of the DMARDs during pregnancy - Plaquenil and Enbrel are both okay. Low dose prednisone is okay as…

Hi, I'm Megan! I'm 28 years old and I was diagnosed with RA in July 2010. I have had symptoms for many years and first tested positive for elevated ANA when I was 20. My anti-CCP is over 250, so my rheumatologist expects that I will not achieve remission, but I am going to at least try to work on symptom management through…
