That freakin' rocks! Congratulations on your amazing victory :)

Hmmm. Good to know. Thanks for the responses everyone! I'm just a beginning lifter and am just beginning HIIT as well (usually do an hour of moderate cardio, wanted to try something new). Thanks again!

Oh...well I hadn't the foggiest so I'm glad I asked. What about just regular cardio in the same day as lifting (again, nothing heavy). Would that be acceptable?

I just discovered Fat2Fit radio (http://www.fat2fitradio.com/) and I would highly recommend it to you. Go to their homepage, scroll down a bit, and on the right there are three podcasts you can listen to. List to the first one titled F2f philosophy. It does a wonderful job of explaining why what you're experiencing happens…

Have you tried Snack Factory pretzel crisps? 110 calories for 11 crisps and I actually like them better than original pretzels. They're great for dips/salsa/hummus/etc

Give carbonated v-8 fusion a try. They've got fruit flavors, are fizzy, have more caffeiene than sodas, and are waaay less calories.

I am a "peeing rainbows" type of happy for you!

Boy, have I been there before. It's easy to talk about life-style change, persistence, and determination when you're in the rhythm of diet and exercise, or when you're feeling motivated. But when you're down and out and have the know-how but absolutely no inner drive to follow through...it's hard. Freakin' hard. Whenever I…

*correction: if you highlight the calories that are automatically calculated by MFP you can delete them and enter in the calories reported by the elliptical machine
-
I go with what the elliptical says because it knows how fast I was going and with what resistance. When I check the "elliptical trainer" activity it asks me how long I was on and then it automatically fills in the calories, but, right below that, it gives you the option to manually enter the amount of calories burned as…

I work full time and am a full time student as well, so I totally understand not having time to cook. However, a lot of the food Nutrisystem provides are not meals that necessarily have to be cooked (breakfast, lunch, snacks). There are so many healthier options to choose from that don't take any (or very little prep)…

Hi Dani, Welcome to MFP and let me just applaud your courage in taking this step! I don't really have any great words of wisdom or advice, other than to let you know that while, sure there are people on this site of all different sizes, I assure you we all have the same insecurities, the same tendencies to over-eat, binge…

I experience the same problem. Don't be discouraged though; a weight loss plan has kinks, and it takes time to figure out what those are and to work a way around them or find out how to prevent them. Something I've discovered for myself is that it's more helpful for me to have 2 or 3 cheat meals/wk (usually one on saturday…

WebMD used to have a really good visual tutorial about portion sizes--and I think they still do. If the package of food tells what a serving size is I go by that, but for things like meat I eyeball it because I don't have a food scale, which is where the tutorial comes in handy. For instance, a lot of recommendations for…

Thanks for your reply, fellow introvert :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like exercising in public. And thanks for the tip about paleolithic diet and fitness. I'll have to read up on that. Thanks again and best of luck on your journey

I just started MFP and have yet to connect with anyone; I'm totally up for supporting one another as we commence said *kitten* kicking. I've got 55 lbs to lose and have tried before on my own and failed. But, like you, I'm mentally ready for this now and willing to put in the work and it would be great to have some support…
