What do you do first?

If you're going to do HIIT and lifting (just beginning lifting, nothing heavy or extreme) in one workout session which would you tackle first?

What if it was this guys lifting day, and he did HIIT on accident?

Trick question. You don't do lifting and HIIT in the same session.
  • Oh...well I hadn't the foggiest so I'm glad I asked. What about just regular cardio in the same day as lifting (again, nothing heavy). Would that be acceptable?

It depends on what you consider "regular cardio"

If your regular cardio includes a bunch of tempo work or is two hours long, probably not.

If you are just talking about a 15-minute warmup for lifting, that's fine.
  • Hmmm. Good to know. Thanks for the responses everyone! I'm just a beginning lifter and am just beginning HIIT as well (usually do an hour of moderate cardio, wanted to try something new). Thanks again!
