There is nothing gimmicky or temporary about weight loss with a low carb diet...unless you think it's a diet and you go back to eating carbs. Low Carb/Paleo/Primal 7 years now and 200 lbs lost and maintained, I feel great and am no longer addicted to food. There are so many benefits to this way of eating that the temporary annoyances go away pretty quickly. It's all about accepting that you will eat this way forever and it not being a diet. Hang in there!

UP by Jawbone works like FitBit and is a bracelet form, which to me is more convenient. It's $125 and you can get it at the AT&T store.
