I blister easily around my ankles. I walk a lot and up mountains and things and wear really comfortable leather shoes. I have proper running shoes and find them less comfortable than when I wear leather shoes or moccasins. It's worth trying old-school soft leather walking shoes and I find they tend to be cheaper and more…

A hot chocolate or can of soup or one of those Galaxy milkshakes will take up the 200 cals easily. Or even milky coffee/tea and biscuits.

I'm 27, not that young and not a man, but I've seen regular, straight boys/men with painted nails all my life. I think to my generation it's pretty normal, like tattoos and bright dyed hair.

I imagine it's because most folks have takeaway pizza which is often greasy and not great for you, and it's glaringly obvious that a slab of dough topped with cheese and pepperoni with a stuffed crust isn't the best kind of dinner. Making your own pizza or having decent pizza is a different beast altogether. Also, lots of…

I realised my portion sizes were too large - pretty much when I started weighing my food to log onto myfitnesspal and looked at the side of the box. I've been putting my rice into little rice bowls and that helps limit the portion a lot. I now try to bulk up my meal with vegetables so I will be less hungry despite eating…

I use frozen strawberries and a frozen 'exotic fruit' mix. The strawberry green smoothie tastes the best but looks like poo.

Sometimes I make tea and put it in a jug-type tupperware in the fridge.

I cook it with onion, garlic, chillies and cherry tomatoes.

You can buy frozen veg, fruit and chicken breasts from Iceland. I love Iceland, it's like a pound shop for food.

Welcome! It was freaky the first time I saw the calorie count for my daily coffee!

That is not how much things cost in my area. 6 bananas cost me £1.29.

This happens to me occasionally. Nothing to do except lie in the bathroom writhing in pain. And peppermint tea.

well done!!

I found that cooking from scratch, harvesting my leftovers and freezing things cuts down the overall cost. You can freeze lots of stuff including bread, ginger, spinach, herbs, roast chicken, etc. then pick at them throughout the week. A whole roasted chicken feeds the two of us for 3 days and the stock can be frozen and…

I'm a 27 y/o housewife and have quit for about 6 months now, and am now working on losing some weight. Stopping smoking's really hard, no lie.. . I've tried and failed for the last 2-3 years but it is doable. I did it without nicotine patches etc. Do it and you'll feel so proud of yourself! For weight loss, I started slow…

I find that food items in the database have a few measurement options. Measurements like 1 fillet of cod are especially useful when you're eating out and are unlikely to weigh your food.

I totally agree with walking. The upside of walking is you can do it for a long time and and won't discourage you. After walking for a while you might also like to try gentle social dancing - these keep you moving for at least an hour and are fun.

I don't know how to do it. I just drink water and 'power through'. Sometimes I have a hot cocoa drink. It's more filling than a chocolate or a biscuit but is also sweet and 'chocolate'.
