I'm not going to log. I'm just planning on putting in a blanket 5000 calories for the heavy days, and let the dice fall as they will.

0. I know I'm going to over eat, but I'm fine with that. Will my excesses put a few pounds on? Probably. Will I balloon out back to my heaviest weight? No. So at worst, it's a bit of a setback in getting to my goal. At best, the weight going back on might be the kick up the backside to work harder in the new year,…

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll remember them for after Xmas. Didn't get the set of weights from eBay, so I'll be looking for some additional weights in a few months anyway.

Yay!

August 1st here. Haven't spotted any twins yet

It's indentifying the specialist shops that I haven't managed to do. I suspect someone may be arranging a bench & weights for me for Xmas though, as my wife has just told me not to buy anything until then. Slightly frustrating that I have to hold off for 2 weeks before starting though.
-
Well there's a bench & 30 kg set in argos for £49.99. That ought to get me started, and there's a set of over 100kg weights being sold locally on ebay that's looking pretty cheap right now, so I guess that'll see me through until I need some heavy duty kit.

I used to get a lot of clicking in my knees just through everyday movement. It was actually painful to squat at all, eve without weights. I saw a physio in the spring, which got me exercising my knees more, and the clicks went away. Basically it was the muscles/tendons being too tight over my knee joints, and simply using…

Not a mum but a dad, but I've been feeling the same way since my eldest was born. Only now starting to find something of myself again.

This. I started keeping nuts in my desk drawer at work, as I was snacking on chocolate bars etc during the day. Now I just have a couple of small handfuls of nuts instead, and I'm less hungry, and feel better for it. Plus the protein makes up for days when my meat intake is low.
-
I try not to eat them back, but if I'm hungry (like today) I will, and I don't feel bad about it when I do.

Working dad of a 3 year old and 10 month old here. I agree that it can be difficult to find time to excercise when you've got the kids to chase after all the time, but recently my wife and I have started going to Salsa classes. :)

I lost 2.5 kg in a week recently, so yes it is possible. I don't know how much you have to lose, but bear in mind that the bigger you are to start with, the faster you'll lose. Sounds like a good start, anyway. :)

I have a few favourites, but these will get me every time: Saltaire Triple Chocoholic Wychwood Hobgoblin

I'll check next time I'm in the supermarket, the can has gone for recycling already. I'm willing to accept the possibility that I misread it as I was entering it in a hurry. Of course, I only actually ate about 10% of the sauce as my lunchbox split on my way to work, leaking sauce into my bag :/
-
Which platform? PC, Xbox or Playstation? The only comp I ever entered was a Halo 2 release comp. Didn't do as well as I hoped though. Except me. ;) When I get enthusiastic about something, I throw myself into it 100%, but often don't finish the job.

33 here Things were a lot simpler in my 20s.

I've got around 10lb to go until I reach goal, although I don't know how I'll look when I get there, so might want to drop some more and/or add muscle to tone up.

Another UK chap wanting some "local" friends here.

I can't offer any advice, but I can at least offer moral support. I've gone through period where no matter what I tried, I gained weight rather than losing it, so I know how demoralising it can be to not lose despite your best efforts.

That makes more sense if they're a maximum, thanks. The vast majority of the foods in my diary have been added by others, and I haven't been checking every detail of the nutritional info against the packaging, but I guess I should do. The sweet & sour chicken is definitely accurate according to the packaging though, as I…

I've listed myself as Lightly Active. Like you I have an office job, but I do have to walk around the office from time to time, so maybe get up a little more than you, and I have 2 small kids, so don't get a lot of sitting down time when I'm at home. I also walk to the train to work 3 times a week (1 mile each way), dance…

There are a lot of factors that can affect the size of your breasts and whether they get smaller during/after weight loss. Firstly, the initial size will be made up of 2 main elements - breast tissue & fat. The amount of breast tissue won't change when you lose weight, but clearly the amount of fat will. It's also the…

My goal sodium is apparently 2500 mg, which feels like a lot to me. Calorie goal is 1900, with a 1lb/week loss Also added sodium to my diary. I don't tend to cramp up much, once a month at most, and weirdly it's usualy just after a very salty meal (within 12 hours or so)

HW: 195lbs (July 2012) CW: 179 TW: 165 5'11" That said, when I was 11 I was a foot shorter, and weighed in at around 155lbs, so what was heavier relative to my height, I suspect.

I'm 33, married with 2 small boys, and live in the UK. Like a lot of people, when I was 18, I looked pretty good; reasonably slim, with some muscle…
